our debt in simple terms

How much debt do we have ? Is there an accurate figure ?

Also did we really get a windfall of £53m this year in tv and prize money ?

Finally what is the rough amount of tv money we will get each season and will the club run roughly at a loss or profit each season without including transfers ?

Cheers

44 million.

yes. thank BT and their new TV service and the extra competition made Sky pay more to retain "favoured status"

unlike ESPN however BT have only two games less and they get first pick on games to. thanks to their 1.8 billion. Goodison merseyside derby will be on BT for instance.

finally depends on wage inflation

They've introduced a cap this year though, which will limit wage bill increases to £4m per club.

Not quite. That only applies to the tv money, all other revenue is not subject to the cap. So if a club increases commercial revenue by 8 million in a year, they can use that money on wages.

Perhaps that won't mean much to Everton specifically, but it puts as at a further competitive disadvantage in offering salaries to players.

I know his it works, but it negates your point, which was that wages will spiral & we'll be dragged along with the wave. This time there is a degree of control

What control will there be when ManU's Chevy deal hits the books, or Citeh's sister companies decide to re-up at 3 times their original deal? We certainly won't be keeping up with that, not to mention clubs like Spurs and the sh-te.

This also creates a scenario in which decreasing the wage bill hurts Everton as it caps spending and therefore pressures them to increase the wage bill.

Let me pose another question - again answer in simple terms please:

Lets say, hypothetically that we are just touching making a profit now each year and the debt stays at £45m.....

When sides are spending that on one player what's stopping someone investing now when they could clear debts and then invest in a side that isn't currently too far off the top four ?

Because............You on a wind up, or aged 12?

(Apologies if you are 12 BTW)

It changes nothing in that regard City & United operate on a different plain to us & that won't change. What it will do will be to stop a club on a similar level to ours in terms of revenue, spunking every last bean of their TV windfall on players wages. The inflation amongst clubs of our financial footing is being controlled this time round. So your original point was wrong.

Are United, Citeh, CSKA West, and Arsenal comparables to Everton? Take away these and the RS and the rest of the league generates their income in the same way.

No come on, serious answers - no because bill is a twa/ or anything like that.

What stumbling blocks are stopping someone wiping out that debt and trying to kick on in to the champions league ?

What's stopping someone from building us a new ground etc ?

How about a nice little flat share above the Tesco Express on the Kings Road?

Nothing too fancy.
If we split the rent is it 4 ways now? I have no problem with that.
I'll get a red coat and tri corner hat to blend in with the pensioners.

Cos there are other clubs where it would cost less to do the same, so, to do it with Eberton you'd have to love us.

An analogy is .. on a Friday night you want to get laid but have failed to score. Two brasses are available. One is half way decent and available for 50 quid. The other looks like she'd scrub up well, the cash element is the same but she insists on a meal in a decent restaurant and wants to take another two hours showering and tarting herself up. Which do you choose ?

By the way, you've been without longer than BML ( clique joke if that passed you by )
