our debt in simple terms

Wait, we are paying ~£4m interest a year on ~£40m debt? 10% annual interest???

Am I reading that right? Did Bill get the money from a local loanshark or what?

Doubt it.

Neville, Hitzlsperger and Mucha out;

Kone, Alcaraz, Robles, Deulefeu in;

Annual/contractual pay rises for existing squad;

Without even discussing the possibility of an improved deal for Baines and/or Felli, and possibly Mirallas and Coleman if they continue performing at their current high levels, it's safe to say the wages will not go down.

The best we can hope for is that the squad increases in size but less of the mega-high earners remain - this is why many are keen to shift Heitinga. If we can build a bit of depth whilst getting the AVERAGE wage down, that would be amazing, but the total wage bill won't be going anywhere other than up.

Neville and co will still appear on the next set of accounts.

But, I think I might have calculated wrong in my head, the likes of Arteta, Yak would have been on the last set of accounts???? But I think I may be wrong on that now thinking about it.

Anyway, we are like a family living on credit cards and Wonga type deals at the moment to pay the bills and have spare cash. Not great.

You can see from this why Swansea and Norwich are able to spend big this summer. Also the lack of champions league is hitting the kopites hard

I would be worried if i was LFC, continued absence from the champions will hit them hard, not only on the pitch, attracting players but a fall off from commercial revenue. Alot of their global fanbase is based on success, overtime their future markets will be captured by Man City, Man Utd and Chelsea.

We have to increase our commercial revenue to survive... or else we are stuck in this position for ever as we have limited means to increase revenue from any other area other than sales.

Total interest-bearing debt is around 48 million I believe. The rates on the long term portions are between 7.8% and 8.6% (doing this from memory, but I believe that's right).

I disagree for reasons previously stated. We'll leave this part there. No point going in circles.

Listen mate, I'm not being funny, but if you can't accept that your prediction of financial meltdown should our league reward revenue drop by £10m per season, on the eve of our total revenue being about to be boosted by £25m+, makes knack all sense, then I'm not sure why I'm even bothering to reply to you, as you're either being obtuse or you seriously don't have a clue.

I am assuming something about the future and your crystal ball is no more reliable than mine. Why is it perfectly reasonable to assume it will not be replicated? In a league which has seen pretty much nothing but constant cost increases year over year for decades? The new rules might slow down growth but there will still be growth.
Precisely as baseless as everything you are saying.

I made no prediction, you merely assumed that there'd be year on year parity, which has no logical argument to back it, as our TV appearances were higher for a start off, as were attendances - which were the 2 major reasons for the previous seasons drop in revenue. You're seemingly focusing solely on cost.

We went two years without buying a single player. You have a lot of faith in this board. I do not. This 25m is not being added onto a team in a good financial position. It is taking a team in a bad financial position and putting them perhaps back to "decent." That assumes costs stay level (which they won't). You are making a lot of assumptions about what this board will do with the added 25m and those assumptions (based on the history of this board) are "baseless."

Do you always just make things up or are you merely doing it with me? As where have I said, implied or stated that I have any faith in the board whatsoever? In your own time love......

I basically said "let's agree to disagree" on this point and you did the Simpsons "I don't agree to that." Save the disingenuous "I'm not sure why I bother" ... you are obviously right up for it if you're trying to argue through my saying "I disagree for reasons previously stated. We'll leave this part there. No point going in circles." Pretty transparent.

... and besides didn't you once claim to have ignore listed me?

You are the only person on this site I have ever had a sustained problem communicating with across multiple threads. So I guess just with you.

It's weird. We both have the same rep status. Neither of us are WUM. Yet we just can't connect on anything. We need an ale house thread to find common ground. Surely there must be something we can agree on! We need a peace treaty.
