It was an amazing thing to see, who would have thought it, in our digital age when virtually everything is filmed in one way or another. Made me have goosebumps.Great find this mate. Amazing to think this was recorded 122 years ago and Goodison was only 10 years old. Interesting seeing the band playing by the spectators in the stand
Where me and my old man used to sit when I was wee nipper he loved it up there and would happily throw me in the air when we scored, his fault I cant stand heights now, genuinely thought was gonna end up in the Enclosure.Sat up there for the first time against Burnley in the cup...scared me.
When I looked down onto the pitch my legs turned to trombones...amazed no one has ever gone over.Where me and my old man used to sit when I was wee nipper he loved it up there and would happily throw me in the air when we scored, his fault I cant stand heights now, genuinely thought was gonna end up in the Enclosure.
why not go one step further and do a 360 degree laser scan of the whole of the public areas then in years to come can AI ourselves back to the old girl so we can always 'revisit'?I'd like to see a full exhaustive photo documentation of Goodison. Kind of like how they've preserved the wreck of the Titanic in 3-D.
She's a tired old stadium and it's so sad we are likely to see her out without a fancy trophy to proudly display in her.
But by Christ...
She's an absolutely beautiful palace
Phenomenal
The (very few) photographs from that time make the stadium look small, but the video also gives an impression of how big it was, and it must have seemed utterly enormous in the context of sport stadiums of that day. I'd give anything for a time machine to go back and watch a match then.Great find this mate. Amazing to think this was recorded 122 years ago and Goodison was only 10 years old. My older brother told me when they were in Division 2 - until Bill Shankly came, Anfield really was a pit ..... our original ground .....Nice to know we are moving to an elite stadium to replace it. No dog's dinner of a make over like what's happened at the other side of L4.
