I think he's a prick, personally. Faux outrage, but it pays his bills and Sky love it don't they? They need it, as long as people are talking about their product, they remain relevant. It's why they ensured they had Neville and Carragher...
You can criticise and critique without being personal though. Live, match day commentators, in my view, shouldn't be calling specific players awful. Sure, critique the performance (to a level, they should be describing first) but Neville is personal on Sigurdsson - against Arsenal, it wasn't the performance he was criticising, it was the player. "He's awful, he really is".
He didn't put in a challenge yesterday and it's all Neville banged on about (conveniently missing Iwobi...) - because of a dislike for Sigurdsson, it's poor commentary and doesn't add to the game.
But all this is away from the thread topic, really.
