If its an in-season hire and assuming we are in a terrible table position, I doubt they go with anyone future inclined or progressive. That would make me think it would be Moyes. He would accept probably on any terms contractually, and would garner immediate support. I cant say that excites me, but considering how the team is designed its akin to Dyche but with a lot more good graces and i'd think a bit more nuance. We could probably get him interim which is a big plus, but as a longterm option i'm not sure what we would be building with him at the helm.

If the club tries to inject some Evertonness with an ex player I would hope they would lean Carsley over Rooney. I have said this for 3 years going but Rooney I think would be utterly idiotic. Carsley is a risk to be fair as well but he at least has some abstract intrigue in relation to development. May help recruit U23 and under talent. He'd know how to navigate toffees fervor. I could accept that appointee.

As for others I am a fan of Potter but I just dont think that's any realm of a fit in regards to our fanbase. We have to admit were a tough crowd im just not convinced he could manage that personality wise. Two names out of work that should get a phone call is Kasper Hjulmand and Edin Terzic. Both are a youngish profile and could be intrigued by a EPL job even with our mess. Hjulmand was very impressive as Denmark's coach and Terzic had better runs than the likes of Marco Rose and Lucien Favre at BVB with arguably a worse squad.
Loving the work, especially in the use of bold lettering there lid.

I'm not in the Dyche out camp, but Graham Potter would make sense. He's available, has a track record of taking over an agricultural side and improving their style of play whilst also keeping things tight at the back. Much rather have him than Moyes

Superb article on Carsley and his style on the BBC site:

It’s got me feeling glum about what I still believe will be his upcoming coronation as the new permanent England manager (CC @bluestevon), because I do think he’d be brilliant as Everton manager.

Fingers crossed the stars align at some point, anyway.
Very interesting article - had no idea he was that type of coach. Perhaps Moyes (for his man-management) with Carsley (for his coaching/pattern of play) as assistant manager.

Thomas Frank is precisely the sort of candidate we should look at. But we're a basket case of a club and he's too smart to take us on in our current state.

Brentford are not far behind Brighton in terms of being the best run club in the entire country. We're miles away from being as well-run as them and Frank will know it.

If we got all of our ducks in a row, he'd be a fantastic appointment though, no doubt about it.

Just dont think potter could cope under the pressure here tbh. Would agree on frank think brentford run good but never going grow as a club. If we do get a takeover would be the sort of manager i would try look at

People wanting Moyes because Dyches football is rubbish is literally bizarre? Moyes is not the West Ham manger anymore because their fans got sick of his boring defensive football, our fans are crazy and bipolar!
Think the moyes shout is down to him being free and we wont not have to pay compo and maybe still has connections in the club. With moshiri checking out hard to say who would be
