Sean Dyche was set to be sacked at Everton and replaced by Ralf Rangnick before Dan Friedkin’s takeover collapsed, according to Alan Nixon.

The journalist reported via his Patreon on 25 August that the American wanted the former Manchester United manager to come in for a “football supremo” role behind the scenes at Goodison Park, similar to what he had done for the Red Bull group before his time at Old Trafford.
Wow - a man with a win rate of under 38% while managing Manchester United.

You’d think. But our recent possible alternatives to Lampard and Dyche were Vitor Pereira (who was actually insane), Duncan Ferguson (who wasn’t even an manager) and Bielsa who ran a mile.

The sort of manager we urgently need (charismatic, intelligent, brave with a clear idea of his style) is probably still climbing the ladder, with potential rather than experience and success. So if they have any sense, they won’t crater their reputation by joining a club still in upheaval and dysfunction. Their next move would be back down the ladder again after us to try and rebuild their confidence and reputation. They’d lose money.

The only sort of manager that would ignore our chaotic state and lack of funds and purely be swayed by the PL glitz and glamour and Everton pay cheque are exactly the type we do not want.
This is just entirely too cynical of an outlook

I know we shouldn't go back but we do need experience at the bottom of the table this season tbh. We won't see exciting football yet. It's all about survival and getting into our new ground as a premiership club

Moyes might be a better alternative as he can manage skilful players and fit them in. I think he would use Dixon as his new Coleman. Make the most Ndiaye and Tim. He knows his defence. I'm not sure a young manager would be able to get us through this season.

Oh yes because the man who turned down Bayern Munich was really going to jump at the chance of managing us.

Especially after we interviewed him twice for the job in the previously and passed on him.

Can Alan Nixon please go into the garage journalist pile and anyone who posts anything by then gets sent into the sun.

Any new manager would have to get approved by Moshiri, and he's just not interested any more. Its going to be on the new owners to bring someone new in (and they 100% will), whenever that might be. I don't expect anything to change this side of Christmas, if at all this season.

Ragnick is not daft, probably met Moshiri/Kenwright and legged it whilst under TFG it might have been more stable. His Austria team at the Euro's were highly impressive.

Nothing will happen until there is a change of ownership.
By then our season will have recovered and Sean Dyche will last until the seasons end or if poor results persist he will be gone immediately.

Either way it is hard to see him being manager at BMD unless he somehow manages to get us comfortably top half which now looks unlikely.

At the end of the season Branthwaite will probably be sold, maybe others as well. Keane, Holgate, Young will all leave and maybe Coleman as well.
If Branthwaite leaves then we should have funds to spend, PSR should not be an issue and we would be moving to a new stadium. We do have some decent young talent at the club in Dixon, Mills, Armstrong , Chermiti and maybe some of those on loan may come back.
Ndiaye,Lindstrom,Iroegbunam, OBrien all look promising so there is a base to build from.

I think for the first time in a long time it may be a desirable job.
