The 80's team we and many others were blessed to watch, at times were sublime, a joy to behold, even on the odd occasion when we went behind I never had a doubt we could pull it round. The football was, I imagine as I wasnt around to see it, but a real hark back to the School of Science days.

The movement passing of the likes of Reid, Stevens, Bracewell etc etc were and will always be a thing of sheer joy to me. I watched greatness and I am grateful for that period in my life.

What we see now barely resembles football, its painful to watch.
I agree with ut all. We were blessed to watch a team as good as they were.

The biggest problem with a manager change right now is not who will sack Dyche, but who will decide on the next Manager. It is something a lot of people here have highlighted with that PL experience comment.

I’m not mad about it if it were to happen, but I’d be ok with Potter. But would the fans accept relegation under him if the worst happened? What I mean is, would new owners and more importantly, the fans, allow him to build a new style, a new team, and come back stronger in a few years?
Its a good question, this season relegation looks a high possibility and are we "RESIGNED TO IT" already? If so, then it would have be a give him the time and tools needed, and for me he would be the right choice but Relegation isnt an option as I believe that it may just finish us as club, I cant accept that as an option.

Its all very doom laden but if we do nothing and persist with Dyche then I dont see it working, i think we would be done!

It is a maddening situation.

I wish I/We knew what to do.

I think they would now personally. Most fans know the next few years will be tough. So we have no choice but to give a manger time. But that shouldn’t be dyche his archaic football is taking us nowhere
I'd love Potter but there's not a chance our fans would put up with possession footy. They're all too inpatient, just look at when we play it short of goalkicks. Immediate grumbles from about 10000 people.
To be fair I think the grumbles when we play it short of goal kicks is because we are not very good at us and put ourselves under pressure from it then after the ball has been played around four or five players it goes back to Pickford who lashes the ball straight down the pitch to the opposition goalie or out of play for a throw in to the other team.

Frank would be my number one from that list.
However my number one would be Lopetegui.
Agree with frank would have a better chance to bring in better players here while working in a budget. Would be my first choice, if it is the dof picking the new manager could see corberan on the list with potter ect. Would be good see the club looking at McKenna and schumacher who both could be hard to deal with the clubs to see what ideas and if interested. Is a big call who we go for this time and that hopefully is more of a similar list of managers instead of all different ones

Unfortunately Everton have neither the courage nor the creativity to hire any manager who isn't "premier league proven".
If they sack Dyche, they'll sound out Potter who will turn them down, and then they'll rehire Big Sam.
