Our World Class Players

Peter Beardsley, Andrei Kanchelskis (sorry for the spelling lid) and Brett Angell. They are the only ones I can remember

We dont have any world class players not even close to it.
World class players are players who would get into any team in any league and every club wants.

I would say the closest to it is maybe Digne and i dont think he would look out of place in a very good side.
He didnt have his place in a very average (for there standards ) Barcelona team. Laughable suggestion.

How many world class players are there? In reality there are very few.
Performing well for a season or two does not make you world, it takes longer than that and in my opinion a world class player is not completely reliant on the players around him.

I would be interested to see people's idea of what a team full of current world class players would look like.

On his day Pickford can be. He can also be absolute garbage, but of late he's been more very good than very poor.

James on his day is as good as any playmaker in the Premier League.

Is Allan world class? He's a cracking player, but I don't think he's Kante level.

Richarlison thinks he is, but blatantly isn't.

Digne is a very decent left back. Wouldn't say he's world class though.

Godfrey? Got all the attributes but still a long way to go.

Other than that, the rest are way off.
I would think similar apart from pickford. Richarlison has had a poor season but hopefully will improve again next year.

....exactly, we do not have any. So we must trust that Carlo and Brands are already planning and negotiating to get better players in for next season. Probably at least 5/6. So lets just be realistic and hope (and pray) for a better next season
I'll be amazed if we have any World Class players in the next 3/4 seasons, unless we develop prospects (Like a Godfrey as an example) to that level before inevitably selling them on.

We need to be CL regulars to have any chance of attracting that caliber of player, or even retaining them. (Lukaku - he was/is)

After several years scattergun buying I believe in Brands (I don't want an argument over it, some moves have bombed), at least he has made his ideas clear to the owner, the manager the supporters.

This season has been a missed opportunity, but it's highlighted once more the areas where we are really struggling. I'm sure they will be prioritised this summer. Another 3/4 in would be good, 5 if it's 'too good to pass on.'

Couple this first team evolution with faster progression from U18>U23>1st team and we're going to be in far better shape on the pitch and on the balance sheet.

We have a world class Manager, that’s for sure and that’s a start.
I‘m not sure we need world class players although it would be nice, but very very good players who give 100% week in week out is all I want. We will win everything then.
