Overlooked but big news

If I was Everton's accountant or bank manager I would have been pleased to see Arteta, Cahill, Yobo, Yakubu and Saha leave. They were amongst the biggest earners at the club, their level of performance could have been called in to question and they didn't have much resale value as assets. It could be argued that Pienaar, Naismith, Duffy, Anichebe and Vellios have filled the breach and that we are around £11m in transfer fees better off. The departing players had an average age of about 30, whereas the newcomers will be nearer 24. We probably have the same amount of internationals now as we did then as well. So, it looks like we're better off.

Are you on the wind up? How can three players with barely 10 PL appearances between them judged replacements for long-standing and proven class PL players?

Unbelievable.

Things are obviously black or white with you (and always black). There are lots of things we could do better, but there are lots of things that we do well which other clubs are envious of. It's hard to know the true motivations of Kenwright and the board, but there seems to be some legitimate purpose to the direction we're taking. Without austerity we could be another Leeds or Portsmouth.

Yep, thought so. You're a wind up.

Anyone who can turn how our club is run into something positive either is a drug addict or plain stupid.

It's time out club changed, this era has been shocking. We are so lucky to have David Moyes.

...or one of Bill's little helpers who get a pat on the head from him or a ticket worked their way now and then.

It's the Everton Family Way.

Still make a 5mill loss a year that needs filling don't we?

Debt will NEVER go away. Paying down interest on it will NEVER mean more money eventually for the manager. We will NEVER be anything other than a feeder club while Bill and his cohorts are in charge.

read somewhere today that we have raised 60m in the past 24 months through player sales and assets.

Spurs stay out of the Europe League becuase they CAN finish in CL places. We cant. It doesn't pay off for Everton to be too competitive in the league and finish with a EL place. I shudder to think where Everton would be right now if we'd quailified for it in the last two seasons. ****ed I suspect. Great isn't it? A shambles of a club that cant compete too well without being wrecked even more. Thanks Bill.

Oh please mate, do me a favour. They woke up to sell off more assets and to subcontract any service the club had to subcontract out. There is NO commercial strategy in place. They had all their eggs in the Kirkby basket and it didn't happen. Now they have nothing other than attacking squad size and wages.

Why anyone offers a sympathetic hearing to this bunch of bandits is beyond me.

Didnt Elstone say we couldn't sustain or afford qualifying for the champions league the other year?

How can Welbeck oust Berbatov? Why replace Carroll with Borini? How come Chelsea played Betrand over Malouda?

Naismith has looked more mobile, adaptable and potent than Cahill was over the last 18 months. I'd rather have a hungry fourth choice centreback like Duffy than an old pro such as Yobo who might be happy to be paid not to play. Yakubu and Saha played the game at walking pace in the latter part of their Everton careers. The only way for them was down while wearing the blue shirt. Vic and Vellios aren't there yet, but who knows what they might become?

Even if we had £12m to go out and buy the finished article you know that it's either not going to work out and we have to move him on before his value plummets too much or he scores goals and the offer to sell is too good to refuse. I'd rather see us develop our own players. If it doesn't work out, nothing lost but if we can unearth a gem it's a win-win situation whether they play for us or attract a large transfer fee.

That is one ****ing scary statement that. An the reason I despair sometimes at Evertonians

I've got absolutely no problem with the club borrowing money against future revenue as long as it isn't done to an extent that it becomes a noose around our necks.

In fact, I'm really surprised that loads of clubs haven't tapped into next years bumper new revenue streams yet, and I would actually be very happy if Kenwright did just that, so that we could strengthen the first team this summer!!!

With these debts being paid off, would it result in a greater profit being made by Kenwright if the club was sold right now?

All this 5million pound loss stuff, will soon be a thing of the past, and we will instantly become a profitable business this time next year.
