Nebbiolo
Valuation: £108 million
The only signal it would send out to me is that we're the new newcastle, throwing big money on past it players.
The new Newcastle is Tottenham. We're too tight to ever get that label.

He does seem a bit injury prone which has hampered his progress. In spite of that, he seems to be playing some decent football lately.
The Mail is one of the better sources for Everton stories, but I can't see this one happening. Didn't Owen say something in 2005 when we'd made enquiries for him to the effect that he'd never play for Everton ? And he's not going to be getting any higher wages from us than the barcodes are offering. Waste of money anyway whatever wages he's on : too injury prone.

Depends on the cost Sim.
Hes had a bad year with injuries, but a good pre-season under his belt and working under Moyes for the club he supports would be an exciting prospect. Players would want to come to Everton to play with players of his calibre.
I know what your saying, big players attract other big players, but I think your over selling Owens reputation, the whole of europe knows he's not the same player anymore and we all know that on his day he can still be world class.
Where do you get this idea he still supports us though? He may have once, a long time ago but not know.
It all boils down to the price really doesn't it. If we could sell AJ and buy Owen for similar price would you be for it?
Didn't Owen buy a whole street of houses in Chester/Merseyside? for his family? Am sure he would like to come back to Merseyside area.
easily, even if he is injured you'd make the majority of that back in shirt sales and merchandise.
7 million and a wage on par with our top earners I'd sign him up.
Pretty sad state of affairs if we're buying players on the basis we can sell shirts.
It was well documented in the press last week how much Kewell had cost per game over the years and I reckon Owen isn't too far behind, not saying he's not quality but wouldn't want to be relying on him.
