We've got people on this forum saying that Manny's overpriced at 6M to 7M but Owen would be good business for that amount?
Go have a word with yourselves if you really believe that to be the case.
Owen, for the right fee on no more than £55,000 a week would be a sensational signing.
Would be class, ask yourselves this, who is better owen or johnson? owen all the way, As for his wages, we mightent be able to afford the, id sayabout 70,000 is the absolute maximum for any player, even if it was ronaldo, so would he be happy with that? i dont think so (me, personally would pay 60,000 maximum) but still, its possible...![]()
Johnson offers a lot more than Owen would to us,Owen is the better goalscorer, but Johnson's work rate and stretching of defences goes largely unappreciated, they're two entirely different styles of players.
The thing is, if Owen's offered £60k per week, Yak,Cahill,Arteta will justifiably demand parity, and we as a club cannot afford those terms...and besides, i think the box headed little cuntbubble is way past his best, let Man City have him.
I'd take Manny at anything upto 8m and not a penny more.
Owen is proven quality.
So was Gravesen.
I read he's on 120k a week and Newcastle might ask him to drop it down to 80k. No way he comes here and get's anywhere near 80k. And Vim's right. If he does, then everyone else is gonna want that too.
Owen's past it and he's not gonna get the wages he wants here anyway so it's a moot point.
Gravesen has never been consistently quality. Infact, to compare him to Owen is insulting.
You used the words "proven" and "quality."
Gravesen was both. Hence the bid by Real Madrid. No comparison to Owen at all as two different players and two different positions.
That said, I'm still shocked I tell ya, shocked that anyone here would even consider him.![]()
Wow. How soon people forget Gravesen's service to us on his first go around.
Short memories have we?
