Its no surprise that majpr pundits where surprised when he wasnt in the England squad, they obviously think he 'still has it' also.

As i said before, i dont know how people can like the signing of Saha, but not this one.

Mate , I cant have Saha , Jo , or Owen . Watch him , and tell me that you think hed be a succes . I cant have it . Hes fukd . Was good , but defo past it . As I say , watch him . As for the goals , are they all prem ?? It was more than Id thought but still not up to our current standards .
Doubt he'll get another in next 5 games . Didnt look the other day that hed score if he played until chrimbo .
Fabio agrees with me .

If the same Owen was at Everton this season and not Newcastle, with his 10 goals and the same starts, he'd be in the England squad.

You can see that he wants to get back in the England squad and he wants to be in his final World Cup next year after his last one was a disaster.

He'll want to go to high profile club. If we or Villa dont get him, where's he going to go that would give him better opourtunities that would be interested? Fulham? West Ham? Wigan?

Nah, if we're interested he'll come our way if he bites the bullet on his wages. If Villa offer him better wages, he'll go there most probably, but I cant see them wanting him.

Going to go to one of two clubs. Manchester City or Liverpool.

Friend of the family are the Owens, and take it from me, his Horses are far more important than Newcastle staying up.

My dogs more important that Newcastle staying up. Im not surprised if he's not arsed and he's wanting to get out swiftly, Newcastle United ruin careers not make them, they suck the life out of them.

If Owen has no interest in footy, why doesnt he just go abroad? Go to Italy where the wage bill is high and the football is slow, make more sense wouldnt it? So if he goes there, then he's in it for the dough.

If not, and he wants to play footy then I'd welcome him with open arms.

Why? Citeh would rather go for bigger players, they want the worlds best at their club.

Rafael wont like Owen, has said he's not interested him. And if they want a striker, if they want to challange for the title again, they'll look elsewhere for a striker that can do that for them.

Doubt he would favour Villa over us, unless he's interested in an after dinner circuit after he finishes for Liverpool. Doubt that though!

All his family are here - as well as business interests. Not to mention his dad and himself being Everton fans...

If it was the wages, he would remain at Newcastle or go abroad.

Owen is naturally a good player, just like Saha,

but if he's injured, he's no good....and he will always be injured.

shame really, but last thing we need is another injury prone player....we're so short on players I wouldn't be suprised if Davey Moyes calls ME!!!

(hopefully not, i'm crap....but not alex nyarko crap....)

I'm confident that Owen is interested in himself, his horses and playing for a Sky team. If we figure on his radar, I believe it's because he thinks we might be the best out of a bad bunch, which are prepared to pay countless millions for him to grace us/them with his presence.

We don't need him and he'll cost millions over three or 4 seasons.

And people would buy Jo for £7-8million but not Owen for nothing but his wages?

If we get rid of Saha, use his wages to sign him, otherwise we dont need 2 washed up, has been injury prone strikers. They might well both be decent goalscorers, but we need players who care, Saha doesnt care, hasnt cared for years and Owen defo doesnt care, both are just seeing out the end.

Why not? Jo would get half the wages Owen would want, would score as many goals and would have sell-on value. We get nothing with Owen other than paying a £50k a week wagebill and a hefty signing-on fee.

He's past it lads, why can't we all see that?

Oh yeah, and he's not scored in 10 games or something.

And why doesnt he care exactly? Because he went to the Barcodes for silly money? Doesnt every modern player do that? He's a striker. He scores goals when fit. That's what he's there to do. Its not as though we'd be spending the transfer kitty on his, he's practically free.

Is it because he may chew up the wage bill that will hinder the prospects of getting someone like Moutinho? Are we holding out for that dream to come true? Quite silly IMO.

The club would get him if they feel the deal would be right for the club. If that wasnt the case we'd have bought Deco or someone stupid for next to nothing but who's on 70k a week.

We need hungry players, Moyes took a risk with Saha, he wasnt a Moyes player and I think we all agree it hasnt worked. As I say if we get rid of Saha, I would welcome Owen, but we cant carry the 2 wastes of space.
