I bet you'll be happy when we bring in Drogba etc. Christ.

He's on a free, he's superb, i don't see the big thing about bringing in him. Owen, Yakubu, Saha, Vaughan - Superb that.

Oh yeah, bloody superb!!

3 crocks!! Nice one! Why didn't I think of that?

And "happy when we bring in Drogba etc"?

What the hell are you on about?

Look, we all know that Owen WILL score goals. So if he wants to take a £35k a week contract, I'm fine with that. But the lid doesn't, he wants more than our top earners.

We've got Saha and young Vaughan. We've also Cahill and even Fellaini at a push. Can we spend the £50k a week better elsewhere? I think we can.

Obviously, if Owen does sign, and if Owen does get playing time, we'll see him knock a few goals in. Although in saying that, I'm not even sure if Owen is suited to the lone striker role, which is Moyes' preferred set-up anyway.

I suppose what I'm saying is Michael Owen is certainly not [Poor language removed]. I just don't think he's for necessary for Everton.

Not totally against Owen joining, but I'd much rather have Jo on another season long loan. Agree with Steevie, pay as you play would be the best option. only on a one year contract with an option for another year.

I'm not sure I do know that, to be honest. He's been crap for the barcodes.

I think he got about 11 in a [Poor language removed] team, with very little quality service. If Owen played for Everton, and started every week, I'm confident he'd give us a decent return.

But like I said, I'm of the opinion we have more quality with Yakubu and Saha. Add Vaughan into the mix, who isn't exactly far behind Owen nowadays, and there doesn't seem a need to spend precious resources on him. Plus, even if Moyes does want a striker, I'd like someone young and hungry. Jo on a season long loan with an option to buy might be a decent bet. I still think Jo will come really good at some point soon.

Spot on.(y)

Being a big fan of James Vaughan, I hope he makes his definate breakthrough next season. He could potentially save us millions.

Owen shouldn't get £50k/week. If we sign him it should be a £30k/week max, preferably a simple pay as you play contract.

If he really want to prove himself he would choose the club that can give him the best window to show his abilities, regarldess (to a point) if that club don't give him the money he demands.

I can understand if he wants some promises from the club that he will play enough to get his shot of reaching the WC squad. But if he starts badly for us... can we really give that to him? Especially if Yak/Saha/Vaughan take their chances when they get it. We're not in a position that we have to play him since our other main strikers are good.
