Panorama to question ownership of Everton

Legally speaking, nobody can do anything, Moshiri owned shares at Arsenal and sold his shares before buying us (which he had to do before buying us), if today someone gifted me shares in a company, that person no longer owns the shares, i own them, that's the way with Moshiri, Usmanov gifted him the shares in the first place is meaningless legally, many people who buy shares in companies, register part of those shares in the name of their children.

All in all, even if FA or anyone else decided there is a foul play, we are 100% safe, it's not our fault, we as Everton didn't do anything wrong, Moshiri, Usmanov and even Arsenal might be in trouble, but not Everton.

As I said it’s not as straight forward. If it was the FA rules on ownership would not even be in place .

We can argue about how robust or otherwise governance is in football but you can not be involved with two clubs either directly or indirectly and as we know Usmanov owns over 30% of the shares in Arsenal that means he cannot have any involvement or indeed link with Moshiri in relation to football ownership.

When Moshiri purchased the shares in Everton it is Everton that have responsibility for completing appropriate forms and sending them to the FA in terms of firstly share ownership and next in terms of his appointment as a director.

In relation to how share purchase can be financed in normal business is one thing but in terms of football it’s a whole different thing.

As for Everton not being in trouble on the face of it you may be right but there are a whole lot of unknowns such as what forms were submitted, what was uncovered by way of due diligence etc. We don’t know enough to just dismiss the knock on effect if there is a link between Usmanov and Moshiri.

If and I agree it’s just an if at this time there is a link then in the outcome would be that primarily Usmanov would have to make a choice as to which clubs he wants to be linked with but how that would the play out I have no idea.

Obviously not seen it yet, I suspect there will be a minor bit of innuendo and circumstantial evidence only. It will be a case of nothing to see here.

However if there were more to it I can't but think it is Arsenal more in trouble. Think of what City and PSG owners have been doing buying stakes in other clubs around the world, that is a grey area at least ethically. Any accusations are not focussed on clubs being bought into though, it is the 'parent' club that is looked at.

In this case even though Usmanov has no power at Arsenal legally he is still significant shareholder there. So any view of an investor at one club trying to influence another goes back to the parent club - Arsenal in this case.

And on stadium investors getting spooked - unless legal proof of wrong doing emerges this will have no effect. Big business lives on the edge of legality and if money is to be made by providing funding for the stadium a bit of 'mud' will not scare the Chinese/Russian/even UK investment vehicles likely to be involved.

Haha this is mental. We finally get a bit of money and are being investigated by panorama, yet football clubs have been run in the most shady ways for years, some by actual criminals, and nothing happens.

Pure Everton.

So the people’s chosen prophet William Kenwright who nearly sold the club to some fella in a bedsit has sold our club to some absolute fraud?

No such thing as bad publicity and of course Panorama was always going to investigate us seeing we now have links to Iran, Russia and some ex-Soviet states. That stuff is manna from heaven to the beeb.

Anyway lads I'm looking forward to watching 90 minutes of Everton where at least Willams doesn't make a mistake and we don't end up with 10 men. ;)
I needed a good laugh lol

I don't get it. I thought it was common knowledge Usmanov gave Moshiri money a while back, so what?

I think this is an important point. Lots of people are unaware though, not many follow the dealings of Everton Football Club as our fans.

I sense this investigation is telling us what we already felt, that Usmanov is ostensibly running EFC via a proxy, and covering his tracks officially to avoid detection.

It's significant it's not posters on a forum saying it, but one of the worlds biggest broadcasters. There will be ramifications from this, in terms of how Usmanov moves forward. They may well be him fully coming on board.

Hope Usmanov and Moshiri launch a counter investigation of the BBC and cause the organisation full of rats and nonces to collapse.

Haha, I was out in town (in coopers) a couple of years back after work, and their was a fella filming in there for panorama, I asked him what is was for and he said it's about the NHS (so let's film loads of people having a bevvy in Liverpool) I asked him why don't they do one about all the nonces the BBC employ, he said he couldn't comment on that haha,

The BBC investigating the really important things, but not themselves, ofcourse

Key thing is there needs to be proof, i fail to see one rule broken, not saying there isnt smoke and mirrors here, but has a rule been broken?

I suspect Usminov and Mosihiri are clever then that.

I think it will be a bit of an anti climax to be honest.

I think the bbc will have to be very careful here about how they frame this.
I think the fact that Usmanov gifted the shares then paid to buy them back is a rather bad sticking point that will be looked in to...

Looking forward to the follow up next year on why we appointed a manager with a worse win percentage than Martinez, a relegation on his cv, and a voice that sounds like he swallowed his razor.
