Stats wise he is very close to Pickford

Lopez:
La Liga/Serie A (Espanol, Betis and Roma):
132 games/188 conceded/31 clean sheets.

Pickford:
Prem (Sunderland and Everton)
149 games/221 conceded/38 clean sheets.

He would be in direct competition with Pickford.

A good signing in the sense Pickford has no more excuses and finally he will have more motivation to keep his place which if you ask me, during England camps, he is the top man and performances have been excellent so no hiding place now.
 
I just want an alternative.

I think Pickford has some good attributes as a goal keeper, but he’s mentally shot.

He needs taking out of the limelight and benching until he’s sorted himself out. Being England’s number one has ultimately been a curse on his club form.

Healthy competition is required. I don’t see Pau Lopez as a huge upgrade, I think he has similar flaws to Pickford, however we can’t carry on as, and I think Pau will be a decent option.
 
It's their first choice keeper. They will stuck with Olsen. No chance.
