Who knows? If Walsh was still DOF surely he should be doing this? If Elstone is CEO surely he should be signing off on it? Instead a director with no formal position is negotiating for a new manager. Hopefully it’s the start of major regime change.

It should be the DoF making all initial approaches in conjunction or possibly being signed and sealed by the CEO.

IF we have cut both of those positions out of the negotiations then would suggest 1. the DoF is on his way out, and 2. that the CEO is on his way out also.

Given what i know about all 3 people, having Ryazantsev negotiating things would be infinitely the preferred option, he is a mile above the level of the other two in terms of competency.

5-year deal though? Bit stupid if true.

With this group and with the calibre of manager we are after (if fonseca is the one), then we have to sell him it as long term with a financial package that makes it worth his while should be knee jerk sack him 6 months in etc, which given the way we are churning through managers the last 3 years, you'd want to be careful and cover yourself with the longer deal.

Sends out a message to anyone we want to bring in playing wise that the manager who wants them is gonna be there as long as they will - which helps.

Expect any DoF change to be incoming on at least a long a contact as the manger as well btw.

Oh and the one we have negotiating is 100% a natural choice to be talking to Shahktar with him being Russian as well

Other clubs will be willing to throw a 5 year deal at him no problem. If we want him, we’ll need to match his demands.

Assuming there’s any substance to the rumours like

What’s more worrying (if true) is that once again it’s a new name in the frame for negotiating players/managerial signings. Moshiri’s first window he had a go but then called in Bill to get them over the line, then Walsh did some as well as Koeman, Elstone has been involved, Moshiri then brought in Allardyce, now Rysantav is on point. As usual with Everton it’s difficult to tell who does what.
Wouldn't it make sense to send a Russian speaker to go to Ukraine rather than Jet Set Willy Walsh gesturing wildly and putting an 'ovich' on the end of every overly loud statement he shouts.

Obviously with Paulo himself, Walsh would put an 'o' on the end of every statement but he's an international traveller so would probably be ahead of the game there.

What seems agreed by most is that Ryazantsev is a very competent member of the board. There are few saving graces so far to the Moshiri era but he is certainly one of them. The Sigurdsson deal would not have been done without him.

For the club to move forward we need a board of 4-5 people of his calibre, and if we got that I think you would see us morphing quite quickly into a club run in a similar way to Spurs, with the added fillip of having a little more money to spend. It would also allow for Moshiri to avoid having to really deal with the football side of things, which in honesty he has little idea on and makes a bit of an idiot of himself doing.

A new CEO/DOf would be a starting point for this. I'd be very happy with brands as DOF and think he would be a terrific choice for one. While I'd love a David Gill figure I'd certainly have no issue with another figure from Russia/the Moshiri/Usmanov empire coming in if Ryazantsez if anything to go by.

It`ll be interesting to see if Allardyce`s usual smug " I know best " demeanour changes, with all the rumours about replacements gathering pace.

You`d expect him to become defensive over his position ?

I noticed 2 new large wrinkles on his face in his post match interview, prominent

In all honesty I have no major issue with a 5 year deal. I think it would signal to the players, and the wider media that the turbulence we have had going through managers is looking to end, and that we see the next appointment as more of a long term pick. It should also help withy younger players who may have become disgruntled with the club that we have a progressive new coach interested in their development.

There is of course a chance that he would look to move on from us if he achieved anything like what he's done at Shahktar or even the clubs in Portugal. If he emulated what Martinez did, got in towards 70 points, playing attractive football there is little doubt sides would come in for him. The 5 years will help protect us and give us good financial compensation as a result.

I'll be frank here, there's more chance of him wanting to leave than us wanting to sack him with the way the land lies currently.

Can you see into the future mate or has this part of Ukraine already been annexed?

I thought being Russian may have been an obstacle, unless of course the club is owned by Russians.

Or do I just have no understanding of the pollitics of the area and they'd still rather negotiate with a Russian despite effectively being at war with them.
