C'mon the 14th May!

I'm double ringing it now. The first was for the start moaning even more if big Scam isn't out the door. The second for the start of weasel season.

No need for another ring for Fonseca as we all know who would be providing that!

Name me a 'finished article' who'd manage Everton currently mate.

Fair comment. My point is more relating to the fact that he’s managing a team who along with Dynamo Kiev have made the top two in the Ukrainian league every year since 1996, bar two occasions. Hence why I’m not fully on board with all the praise of him. He’s doing what many would see as the minimum of him with a very solid structure around him. Their transfer strategy is one of the best in Europe, ours is one of the worst. I’m not sure he’s ready/experienced enough to try and overhaul 6 much better teams than he’s ever had to face domestically.

His work with F.C. Paços de Ferreira and Braga is pretty impressive when you read into it, got Paços into the champions league in their first season in the top flight, and got a cup for Braga and to 4th in the league.

While the Portuguese league isnt as competitive as ours, these are things not to be overlooked... His work at Shaktar is impressive, but what he done before is more interesting.

The thing about fonseca - he’s managing the equivalent of city in his current league. Its a real gamble to bring him to Everton at this turning point right?

Is he though?

Ukraine isn't quite the one-team league that everyone seems to think. Sure, Shakhtar have arguably the best squad and they are generally successful domestically, but they're not quite their country's Celtic like.. or even City this season.
