….if that was the case, would he not have dismissed the Kenyon Consortium as soon as they made their initial approach?
Worth listening to offers. If they offered him an out with just a small hit he'd probably take it.
The fact is, to cover his spend so far and do the stadium they'd need to value us as 1.3 billion ish.

We don't need that kind of lunacy. We already have our own brand of crazy.
Well most reports were talks originally started when Moshiri was looking for stadium investors. Overall, none of us will know where Moshiri's head is at but I think he'd have to be absolutely blown away by an offer to sell. This group had many red flags
I'm convinced that Thompsons name was only thrown in for a bit of credibility.

When the time came to front up cash that Polish fella would probably pitch an NFT collection.

It was certainly odd how Thornton was up front and centre at the outset but by the close he had virtually vanished from the discussion, stepping back into the mist somewhat.
Also noticeable how initially Kenyon was mainly just a consultant who may offer some advice to the group post sale and would be unlikely to leave his tax haven suddenly became more likely to be involved.
Taken as a whole this episode was faintly reminiscent of Knighton’s attempt to purchase ManU many years ago.
Thankfully this bunch of raggle taggle cowboys have been escorted to the town limits and sent on their way to ,no doubt ,attempt to rustle at someone else’s ranch.

I think I posted a couple of weeks ago, asking whether he'd played keepy-up in front of the crowd yet.
So much money sadly in footie these days - its going to attract all the unsavoury types like flies about a cow pat.

I for one am glad that this is not going to happen, the thought that we could be taken over by clueless owners who knew nothing about running a football club could have had serious consequences for the future of our team.
Thankfully Bill and Mosh are still there to steady the ship
Feel seasick already.

It really isn't.

Unless a nation swoops in new owners don't help us financially. (the only 'suitable' nation is Qatar)

What is vital is that the supporters make it obvious to the owner that it's simply not good enough. He's paying a boardroom handsomely to look after his investment and they have spent over 500m on players and made us worse.

You can of course argue that he's interfering more than he should because it's true. A strong board pushes back against him and shows him the club is in good hands.

Kenwright and his nodding dogs MUST be replaced with the very best we can attract if Moshiri is to keep his majority shareholding.

With the money being paid out in salary to them we'll have a queue of applicants around the block.
We don't need to be owned by a nation state to be administrated well off the field, which is the principle point as to why a takeover needs to happen. Moshiri doesn't care about Everton and hasn't done for a while, he never comes to the games anymore and seems to avoid making decisions at the executive level like the plague unless it's to do with appointing a manager then he's in there like a flash.

I for one think he should be interfering more than he does, as he is a completely absentee owner on all aspects of the club except for when he can meddle with the first team and its management. He could have turfed out this miserable boardroom at any point in his 6 year tenure but he simply doesn't care enough about the club to get involved.

The fact he's listening to offers now crystallises how far his head is away from Everton. An unmotivated owner is by far the worst type of owner you can have, more so than a broke one. Look at how rapidly Aston Villa went into a tailspin under Randy Lerner when he stopped caring.

The progress of BMD cannot be allowed to distract anyone away from what is a considerably more pressing matter and that is our on-field performance.

That's the frustrating thing, we definitely don't need the backing of a nation. We already have an extremely generous benefactor.

He's welcome to get involved, so long as it's not football related we're it's clear he's not that great.

An Everton without Bill Kenwright looming large over everything and replaced with somebody halfway competent would perform far better than recent seasons.

….I admit to not knowing if thE Kenyon Consortium would’ve been good or bad for our club, but I have woken up this morning feeling content it’s not happening.

As tweeted by Peter Buxton, ‘the winning bidders don’t tend to give a running commentary on their offer’, so there could be discussions happening that we have absolutely no idea about.

All frills and no knickers! Someone comes in and pays up to take us over and if they don't we don't need them. It means they were scrambling for the cash or weren't serious, both could be fatal to us down the road.
