Us football fans are a funny lot ,one minute were slagging players for disloyalty, the next were slagging players who have been loyal servants. The hypocrisy can be breathtaking. T'was ever thus I suppose. Perhaps we get the players and slightly seedy game we deserve?
...you're bang on there mate. It's as if the different parts of some people's brains are not connected.

In defo think he's Sunderland bound, tbh. Koeman's words yesterday linked his sticking around to numbers of CBs we have available. Regardless of his words about PJ being club captain and going nowhere, if we get Kone he'll be surplus to requirements.
Not so sure myself.

If he wants to play with 3 at the back then even if Kone arrives we'll only have 4 established and experienced CB's to cover 3 positions.

I think he'll see the season out, albeit he might find himself on the bench for a decent portion of it.

If he plans on using Deulofeu and Bolasie then i don't think 3 Centre backs would be a bad idea. Both attractively brilliant going forward, not inspirational getting back but they wouldn't need to in the team you've suggested.

Personally would prefer Mori to Jags on ability. Mori/Williams/Kone sounds like a brick wall. Just plays on the heart strings letting go of Jags.
Agree with all of that mate. Jagielka is past his best though and we don't want him to turn into a Pienaar/Osman/Hibbert type of player who ends up draining wages but rarely playing. Hopefully he wants one final challenge before his career is over. Can see him moving over to the States tbh, he loves a Hollywood tan does Phil Jajelka.

if he goes the only thing i'd be a bit disappointed in is not giving him a testimonial tbh

think mori/Holgate and Williams should be our starting pairing as jags will drop off badly this season I reckon

I dont expect 3 at the back too much. He's gone with two CBs wherever he's been before.

If Moyes wants Jagielka - which i suspect is odds on - Jagielka wont stick around when he knows there's not much likelihood he'll get his usual amount of game time. It'd be humiliating for a club captain to settle for that.

You could be right Dave, albeit he's played with 3 in pre-season and I'd wager he'll do the same tomorrow. BUT, that could solely be down to the fact he thinks what we have is too weak to play with 2, and he could well revert to a back 4 with Williams and Kone.

If I was having money on it, I'd have it on Jags moving on in Jan rather than now though.

I think he's been underlining a point by playing three at the back in preseason games: basically he's saying "that's all I can do with what's there".

Never in a million years does he want to chance playing that as a preferred system in the PL.

I dont know what the hold up is on Kone (wages or fee) but the club need to get this over the line for the manager's sake.

His transfer request should be the final chapter in this one I think.

Probably be sorted over the weekend / Monday imo.
