Weren't we top of the league at one point with Gomes and James in the team backed up by Doucoure/Allan?

Add a pacey RB to cover James which Coleman struggled to do and Coutinho's end product over Gomes and we could be in business.

We still need a proper rotation option for Allan/Doucoure though.

Gomes, Delph and Gbamin cant be relied upon and Siggurdsson/Davies aint upto much.

Not if they are not both playing at the same time it isn’t. Being able to bring off James for Coutinho or vice versa, isn’t short sighted in my eyes.

I can see the reasoning, we are crying out for creativity and people who scores goals and whilst he does go AWOL at times and has suffered from a few injuries, on his day, he wins games.

Ive never really been a massive fan, but there's no doubting that if he stays fit and healthy he could and would win us games.

Personally still don't see anything in this, not a single good source has even mentioned it, yet.

He's not rapid. He's not outright slow like a Sigurdsson, Iwobi or James but he's by no means quick either.

In our side he'd look like Usain Bolt in comparison like.

As much as I want him my only concern is his knee injury - he's been out approx 4 months so I imagine any deal would only be properly carved out in June/July once its been 6-7 months and the club have a better idea of his general fitness.

Still think its paper talk mind.
