Pienaar to return?

Surely if it's the 3M reported we will match it to get pienaar back!?!?

I hope not. I don't think he would have the same impact that he had first time around and I was concerned when he said "At Everton we had a great manager but the squad was a bit smaller and sometimes you get to a point where you don't push yourself anymore. So playing for our great club, where you're a key player in the team and being paid anything up to £40k a week is too much to ask and isn't enough motivation for you to give 100%. We can all get a little too comfortable from time-to-time, but this is not very professional and a tad disrespectful in my book.

Clearly, he didn't push hard enough at Spurs then.

Nope. Not for me. He wanted out, made it hard for us to get a respectable fee...old news. Good luck at QPR.

We could possibly afford that if we sold Bily. I think for £3m he'd be worth it.

So he wasn't worth it to Everton to pay him 75K/week and now we should pay him 75K/week plus send 3M to Spurs? That's just nuts. For a 29 year old most likely out of shape Spurs reserve player? He has his money, which is all he was after in the 1st place given that he knew he was always going to be at best Bale's backup. As far as I'm concerned he could rot there and text VDM for tips on how to properly pull splinters out of your ass after sitting on the bench for so long.

Tbh I don't care if he left us. He apparently wants to come back so that'll do me. I'm not going to be picky. If he really wants to come back he should accept a pay cut. If he doesn't then, yes, 75k is too much. I think we should put £3m on the table though because of the potential for him to help stop the rot here. We already know him and Baines are a top 5 left side partnership so there's less risk involved than other possible transfers, I believe.

Exactly kenada....

You don't usually get teams bidding for players that they don't think can be done.
As blufox said spurs want 5M for him. No doubt qpr have made a initial approach at prob 2.5/3M which spurs naturally have rejected hoping for an improved bid.

Don't think we would go above 3M nor should we. Expect a pienaar deadline day move somewhere. Could still be here. I fully expect spurs to sign hoilett and will then want pienaar out.

we bought pienaar for 2 mil, we sold pienaar for 3 mil, spurs now want 5mil...

so, if we bought him back the total outlay on pienaar would be 4 mil...

4mil is not a lot of money for someone that we know works for us, at premiership level...

spurs would not expect all that in one go either so we are talking about a 1.5mil down payment and the rest on tick...

this is a non brainer...

it is also no coincedence that tim cahill has struggled since pienaar left, so it might even make the real tim cahill please stand up, please stand up...
