overrated pile of rubbish imo, mane's good, but he's good a lot because of hard work, wouldn't call him a proper silky baller on the le tissier level. Van dijk is a good defender made to look a lot better because of the RS infested media, a very defensive structure because he's canny in always being in front of the cameras. Every time they concede he's nowhere to be seen, hiding marking thin air and leaving his partner to look after the loan striker. The complete lack of good defenders in world football also makes him look better, wouldn't have him in the top 10 centre backs in the premier league for example. Anyway, i digress, he's not a proper baller.
Ah stop mate ffs.

That’s a list of current players that they’ve sold.
I do give my mates grief on the side they could have.

yep, but the thing is, how long have those players actually been there? a year or two of bale or walcott being a teenager, i'll still trust ancelotti more than them anyway, football fans of all clubs are idiots really, we're all so fickle.

So much stick after wolves. Im more fussed about them turning up on thursday than the actual result.

Not a fan of VVD either but not going over it all again, apart from to say that he was acquired to chip in with a goal tally that never really materialised.I recall the stats showing that pound for pound, his was no better than Skirtl’s who, IMHO, was a better CH than VVD.

(Has anybody else noticed that when Van D goes forwards for a corner there’s always that air of excitement built by the commentator, and if in the event, he actually gets his head to it it’s “Van Dijk..........!!” Followed by a massive anti climatic silence as it goes sailing over the cross bar yet again, with no further mention? Pitiful.)

I haven't watched them in years tbh, only against us and the odd game they seem to lose, i just notice in those games he's nowhere to be seen.

the worst was us with lukaku ... doesn't score important goals etc, we'd be top 4 this season if he was still here, just look how much impact ings has had playing with 10 plodders.
Your spot on mate we tried to justify getting rid of 25 goals out of our team without a replacement

Pffft

You always have to remember that there was no shortage of fans on here who weren't arsed about or were actually pleased that Lukaku left.

There were fans on here claiming his first touch and hold-up play meant he was actually holding us back. No shortage of them. We're talking a next-level grade of stupidity when it comes to football forums. Especially when the player has asked to leave. Few fans that actually rate him are going to waste their time saying "I think he's decent actually and you're all a bit clueless/bitter" right now, because it's obviously not worth the grief. I wouldn't bother trying to look at opinions on their forums at all.

As many have rightly pointed out, Villa fans weren't exactly full of praise for Gana, who went on to be an absolute class act.

The numpties did the same thing about Gana, his replacement pretty much died and we missed him terribly. We try using Gomes a little deeper but he’s not quick enough or prepared enough to shield the back 4 and allowing him to play more central will be massive when Allan is doing that job

We're not allowed good things. Our fans love an Andy Johnson type signing, who'll run himself into the ground but only bag 5 goals all season, than a "lazy" Lukaku, who won't do anything all game, but will slot a goal for you.

His heart wasn't in it, and his constant talking about "moving on", should have been the wake up call that we needed to strengthen. Instead we sold him, then we brought in Klaassen, Rooney and Sig failing to fill a Striker void. All three who have a combined pace of about 0.5mph.

I would say it should boil down to this: Is he a world beater? No. Is he considerably better than anyone we have at the club? Without ever remembering seeing him at all I would have to say most definitely.
