Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.

As someone has pointed out, clubs don’t bid if a player isn’t interested. Agents give them the encouragement they want. How often do you see a club officially bid only to be told thanks but no thanks?

don’t read the codswalloo in the papers. He may prefer spurs but no idea how that impacts on whether he would be keen on Everton.

Like the rumours of him visiting spurs training ground and speaking to mourinho. Probably a decent chance he’s spoken to Ancelotti or like you said his agent.

It could also quite easily be possible that Hojbjerg has very little interest in us, and instead the agent giving the go ahead for our bid is an effort to instigate a bid from elsewhere

overrated pile of rubbish imo, mane's good, but he's good a lot because of hard work, wouldn't call him a proper silky baller on the le tissier level. Van dijk is a good defender made to look a lot better because of the RS infested media, a very defensive structure because he's canny in always being in front of the cameras. Every time they concede he's nowhere to be seen, hiding marking thin air and leaving his partner to look after the loan striker. The complete lack of good defenders in world football also makes him look better, wouldn't have him in the top 10 centre backs in the premier league for example. Anyway, i digress, he's not a proper baller.

I tend to agree. His stats are bolstered with simple 10 yard passes and pointing.

All of this media 'he's never been dribbled past' was a crock of rubbish too. When he's really tested he's never to be seen, great player don't get me wrong - but he's only a great player in this current crop of players, he's not close to Vidic or Ferdinand, John Terry or a whole host of others.

Some people listen to Kopites too much.

And I think you are wrong. And it depends on what formation.
All about opinions.
But I’m not sure what you’ve seen in 2 years to think he’s this great midfielder.

Next it will be let’s play 5 in midfield, that will help Gomes’s lack of aggression. His inability to make a tackle, his snail like pace and defensive nous. Bang average

The Times reporting today that “Man City are going head to head with Tottenham over Hojbjerg.”

I doubt it’s right, but if that’s the case, Mourinho, Carlo and Pep (who he played under at Bayern) all rate him, so I’ll take their opinions over a Southampton fan forum every day of the week.

I think it's also worth noting that fans are fickle and Hojbjerg probably went from excellent to underwhelming in their eyes the moment he announced he wanted to leave.

Not really having a go at them to be fair, we all do it. I remember some Villa fans were happy to see Gana leave, some of us on here probably did it when Lukaku left as well - going from best goalscorer we've had in recent years to "Trampoline shins" & "big-headed".

As for Højbjerg, I think it could be a great bit of business for the right price. And we desperately need a bit of something else in CM.

Having an injury like Gomes sustained may take a significant amount of time to get over. There are signs and glimpses his ability is still there. The assist vs Villa is a prime example. This is the most fickle sport there is seemingly. I even think him being competitive in such a short time is short of a miracle considering the circumstances. He needs time.

Guaranteed starter allowed to develop under Carlo's guidance - why wouldn't he come to Everton?

Could be the most important signing of the last decade.
Richarlison is only as good as the midfield behind him.
Fingers crossed.

The point is he wasn't exactly great before his ankle injury mate.

But the season before he was. We were desperate to keep him.
He will never be an aggressive tackler, but he can pick out passes and dictate play.
iIt may have been a different story for him if Gbamin had not for injured. He would have had an all action midfielder beside him.

He wasn't for me mate - he was very good alongside Gana until the Anfield collapse then like the team was bang average until the last 7-8 games when we went on that good run.

Basically from September - December then April - May last season he was good, January - March he was crap and all of this season he has been crap.
