I no longer accept that Martinez was our manager.
That would assume that people don't have relationships with their counterparts at other clubs though, which isn't the case. I'm sure somebody at Everton could pick up the phone to somebody at Spurs and say 'you in for this lad or what?'. This is another situation like when people make out coaches only know the same amount about their players as we do. We're getting our info from the papers etc, but the club won't be.Well that's sort of what my question is. The scenario could be Spurs and Everton battling or it could be Saints getting a low ball from Everton and trying to manufacture a market.
Thinking back to the Mina transfer we basically spent the whole time hearing how United were going to bid. But they never did and tbh I still don't know for sure if they were ever really in it or if Barca were throwing it out hoping to make more money.
I'm not so sure if I'm in a deal and trying to figure out what the interest level is that I'm taking what another possibly interested party tells me at face value but that's just me. I know they'll have people they trust but it is still a game you have to play. That would assume that people don't have relationships with their counterparts at other clubs though, which isn't the case. It won't always be the case but generally speaking it's beneficial for clubs to have a good relationship with each other. Every time you screw a club over you're guaranteeing they'll do the same to you at the first opportunity, so as a rule you don't do it. Agents are involved too, they don't want the selling club pricing the player out of a move so if there's no other club involved they'll tell you so because it's in their best interests to. Football in this sense is no different to any other business. Also I'm not sure how directly addressing the point you were making is tangential but fair enough.I'm not so sure if I'm in a deal and trying to figure out what the interest level is that I'm taking what another possibly interested party tells me at face value but that's just me. Anyway that's kind of tangential to what I was interested in which is simply what is actually going on here. I'd hope Everton know better than me.
I wasn't asking about what the clubs know I was trying to see if I could know myself. It won't always be the case but generally speaking it's beneficial for clubs to have a good relationship with each other. lots of 2nd guessing going on here...
Evening Toffees!
There’s a poster in here who feels very familiar.
This lad seems to like a tackle anyway, which we could do with
Is he actually any good?
I mean I know he's better than our current CMs but who isn't...
