I don't think he wants to come here, which is fine, but if that's the case he and his agent should make that clear to us so we can look elsewhere (lol, as if that'd happen, but in principle it SHOULD happen)

I agree in principle, and would be surprised if he chose us over Spurs, all other things being equal currently.

I think a player is far more inclined to make their views known, but they are constrained by their agents usually. It suits them to rule nothing out and they need at least two interested clubs so they can leverage one over the other.

I always feel if you don't consider your club the best in the world, why do you even support them?

I would like to think if I supported Grimsby I would look down my nose at most clubs.

Sure your head tells you that you utter garbo, but never listen to your head, its stupid, your heart knows what its talking about.

As my heart has been broken to many times its lucky it can't be fixed.

I think most players would prefer spurs and see them as a bigger chance of European football at the minute. They are short sighted that’s true but it’s a short career.
Having said that can’t wait until he signs and tells us he’s a boyhood blue and wears Everton pyjamas.

For a posistion we badly need to upgrade, I think we would be willing to take a gamble around that price?
I'd agree but I also don't see anyone saying you are which is why I'm a bit confused at the amount of people who seem convinced he's on his way.

Head patting doesn't just mean an elite club.

The Sunderland fans do it and the likes of Watford and fans of all teams have done it over the years.

They come in with "Great club Everton, always liked them and their fans", then in the end they start singing "feed the scousers", thats head patting.

Nah, not in my character. I may "Have a little joke" now and again but I'm not the way you suggest.

The appeal is London. Some players will only play down south.

Those players are invariably terrible too.

Let the market dictate. If clubs were willing to wait, that says enough. What we shouldn't do is get trapped in a bidding war.

I agree.

But the idea of pricing Spurs out of a move so that we can then sign the lad on a free next summer makes no sense
