Is Ellis Simms currently a better option than Maupay? Yes

We sent Simms on loan when Dominic Calvert-Lewin was fragile & we bought Maupay. It’s not a good reflection of our transfer strategy.

….but Maupay is unproven in the system Everton play. He’s a square peg in a round hole, so he might as well not be there. I think Simms is some way short of what we need but he surely couldn’t have been worst than Maupay. At least he’d fit how the team play, he’s young, he’s able to occupy defenders & he can score goals.
