Fofana was playing in the league at 17 mate, also Saliba at Arsenal is only just 22, Guehi at Palace only just 22. These players are not an option unless you actually give them a chance which is something we never do. We would much rather play a proven failure than give a talented youngster a chance (its happened under various managers)
Lets see what happens when he comes back in the summer, in all honesty mate I think he will be sold on as an offer will come in and we will take it.

Tbh I just don't want to watch a whole season of Tarkowski and Keane together, both are way, way too slow for this level.

Bringing Branthwaithe back and his role will hugely depend on in which division we are:

Championship then he (also Cannon and maybe Warrington) must be part of the 1st team squad.

Stay in PL Branthwaite might be 3rd/4th choice CB so we can spend our limited resources somewhere else. Ceetainly with Mina walking on a free and maybe someone foolish enough to pay a good fee for Holgate

If it wasn't for absolute financial ruin and the stadium turning into a massive Aldi i wouldn't be averse to using relegation as a decent 'restart' point.

You could say to 5 or 6 of the players under 21 (Cannon, Branthwaite, Patterson, Mills, Warrington, Dobbin, Onyango) that they are guarenteed to be in the match day squad every week and in contention for the starting xi.

Supplement that with a few potential lads , a bit of experience and the likes of Garner, Iwobi and it would be an opportunity to try and build our way back up again!

Problem is 'Dychey' will think that's not necessary, these lads aren't ready and get Jeff Hendrick in to shore things up and bring an elite mentality!
And obviously it will bankrupt us!

We couldn't pay those contracts in the Championship though, they would have to be massively reduced and tbh I'm not sure if Townsend will play again anyway that's a massive injury at his age I wouldn't risk it if I was him.
