I'm amazed even though we have Ancelotti as manager we have a thinly disguised thread suggesting we never had it so good under Moyes. Give it a break, move on, it's been done to death.
Oh Sentinel, please try and tone down your cynical mindset. Not everything in life is a hidden agenda friend. We are on a forum to debate and discuss, not to chide or be snide!!!

I was merely comparing two periods of five consecutive Everton seasons. On a number of levels, my comparison illustrates how Everton has changed. I hoped it would spark some debate, which it did for a while. ;)

Why? What's it got to do with Everton?
Sentinel, u r insufferable. I take an interest in past Everton managers. Wow, shoot me! If anything here it sounds like you have a hate agenda against Moyes. The last thing I wanted was for the cardigan-wearing ginge to come back. However, I am of the opinion he was right for us at the time. We have one of the best managers in the world right now. I'm intrigued to see how he does as well.

You're running with a narrative that we were better off under Moyes. There's been some catastrophic appointments at our club, I won't argue with that. But if your panacea is that, Moyes is the answer. I've heard more convincing arguments from flat earthers.

Below are two seperare periods of 5 consecutive seasons. Transfer expenditure and league finishes are included. Thanks.

2009/10 - 3.5m profit - 8th finish

2011/12 - 16.33m spent - 7th finish
2012/13 - 4.25m profit - 6th finish
2013/14 - 16m profit - 5th finish

Net Spend - 1.895m spent over 5 seasons.

Average league finish - 6.6

Managers over this 5 season period - David Moyes

2016/17 - 25.95m spent - 7th finish
2017/18 - 72.5m spent - 8th finish
2018/19 - 58.7m spent - 8th finish

Net Spend - 215.51m spent over 5 seasons

Average league finish - 9

Management over this 5 season period - Roberto Martinez, Ronald Koeman, David Unsworth, Sam Allardyce, Marco Silva, Duncan Ferguson, Carlo Ancelotti
One manager in 13 years, then seven in five afterwards. Speaks volumes.

Nope, that's what you have read into the narrative, and that's okay. I left it open for interpretation. What I was trying to highlight was how, even though we have had a lot more money to spend, Everton have performed worse recently compared to when we were poor. I was interested to find out why that was?

We don't unitlise the lower leagues like we used to under Moyes.

The likes of Maddison, traore, Daniel James, all came from the the lower leagues
That's a very good point.. Instead with our new found wealth we seemed to have forgotten the market and gone for absolute overpriced junk from European leagues oh and Arsenal reserves.
