Can't compare mate - the game and market is completely different now.

Your seasons start just after we signed Fellaini for a massive, record breaking 15m. Nowadays we're throwing 5m at players for the academy.
The rise of Spurs, Leicester and Klopp taking over at Liverpool have pushed Everton lower down the table.
Even Manchester United had to spend exorbitantly to stay in the T6 in this period.

We need a plan. Moyes had one and that's why we were so consistent while he was here. Moshiri has come in and fired money everywhere but it means nothing without direction.
These stats are cherry picking the best years of Moyes. Give any of the other managers enough time and who knows where Everton would be?

I'm amazed even though we have Ancelotti as manager we have a thinly disguised thread suggesting we never had it so good under Moyes. Give it a break, move on, it's been done to death.

Which is why I would have given Moyes a chance in this new era to see what he could have achieved

Would have dispelled the what ifs
Moyes at West Ham will give you all the what ifs you need. Similar draw in terms of players they can attract, similar budget. Hate to say it - Similar demands of fans

Below are two seperare periods of 5 consecutive seasons. Transfer expenditure and league finishes are included. Thanks.

2009/10 - 3.5m profit - 8th finish
2010/11 - 1.475m profit - 7th finish
2011/12 - 16.33m spent - 7th finish
2012/13 - 4.25m profit - 6th finish
2013/14 - 16m profit - 5th finish

Net Spend - 1.895m spent over 5 seasons.

Average league finish - 6.6

Managers over this 5 season period - David Moyes

___________________________________

2014/15 - 30.96m spent - 11th finish
2015/16 - 27.4m spent - 11th finish
2016/17 - 25.95m spent - 7th finish
2017/18 - 72.5m spent - 8th finish
2018/19 - 58.7m spent - 8th finish

Net Spend - 215.51m spent over 5 seasons

Average league finish - 9

Management over this 5 season period - Roberto Martinez, Ronald Koeman, David Unsworth, Sam Allardyce, Marco Silva, Duncan Ferguson, Carlo Ancelotti
It tells me that we didn't spend in the first period and the squad age went up massively and left us with a big rebuilding job to do as alot of the players where then on the Decline. Howard, distin, jags, Saha, Osman and piennar. An Barry was brought in a short term fix.

We've also had some bad luck with injuries with Coleman, McCarthy and Oviedo suffering bad leg breaks which I don't think any recovered to the same standard.

We now have the issues with gban and gomes injuries aswell.

Ur the first to suss me out. Well done. My hidden agenda has been unearthed.

Wasn't the best years of Moyes when he finished 4th!? I can't remember any other Everton manager finishing as high as that since the 80s!

As pointed out from another poster I cocked up one stat as well. The 5th place finish was not under Moyes but Martinez!
