I want a manager capable of building something, astute tactically or rather balanced between attack and defense. A manager with a record of putting a pathway in place for young talent and has a distinct philosphey, standards tactical varience, solidity, creative football and decent recuritment. .

It's funny - you're describing De Boer right there. That's exactly how I see him. He will get tactically better but he is one o the best young coaches in the world, no doubt about it. Don't agree that Mourinho would be a disaster also :Blink:

I have a good few friends in Amsterdam who dont rate De Boer, i actually mentioned him when Moyes left, but my pals dont rate him at all, especially some of his decisons on getting rid of players and recruitment, they would broadly feel he has a soft underbelly.

Koeman wouldnt have been my first choice - but then many would pick Koeman over my preffered choice, but the more i review it as an appointment the more he ticks all the boxes. When people talk about the winning mentality you have to laugh, how many great teams has he be in as a player and his collection of trophies won from that point of view is ridiculous. Hes pretty much won tropheys at the majority of clubs hes been at and when you look at the job he did at Southampton in two season given the context of what he walked into - that a brilliant job - if he can get to europa League spots without resources, i think with more he has a strong likelyhood of acheiveing CL and more.

I think it funny that people want De Boer and Cocu, they have basically acheived similar accolades as Koeman - but far less. Mourhino would be a disaster for the club, i was warming toward Pellegrini - given his work with young players this season.

Couple of things to highlight;

De Boer net spend positive over £60mil
Highest transfer fee £4.5mil
signings mostly free players like heitinga

de boer won league several years in a row
cocu won league 2ce in a row after losing 2 best players and with mostly youth team he brought through.

koeman won once at ajax..another 2 seasons later then took them downhill massively. Theres no longevity.

De Boer - World cup runner up as an assistant manager as well as a successful club manager.

Very decorated and respected world star as a player.

Wants to go onto better things.

I'm massively swung on De Boer - plus i've got 14/1.

Koeman for me only because de boar has the type of face that will get on my nerves and I will want to punch it in. A punchable face is the phrase I was looking for.

People underestimating Frank. Frank don't take no prisoners.

Ha is the same thing not happening to De Boer he hasnt won the title in two seasons.

Define downhill finishing second?

Koeman likewise developed a team at Ajax with clever signings and mixture of youth that reached the CL quater finals, a team including Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Rafael van der Vaart, Wesley Sneijder, Cristian Chivu, Nigel de Jong and Maxwell. How has De Boer record in Europe been?

He did likewise at Feynoord given Indi and Claise there starts.

Your also wrong, he won the double at Ajax in his first year, and they were champions the season he left.

Have you seen the money he has had to spend on replacements? He's over £60mil positive in net spend with players coming through the youth team or cheap or free signings.

If we got FDB and Koeman went back to Ajax then look at PSV dominate while Koeman is there.

Amazed koeman has so many votes, hes an average manager at best....

That is Ajax.

That is the gig. They've always operated that way.

Last season was the first time they spent more than they sold since 2006/07.

Check out transfers in vs out below;

If we're expecting big outgoing transfers, the ability to spend reinvest and operate with a half decent budget for a change is an absolute must for any new Everton manager.

I defintely dont want an Everton team to play the way the Dutch did in that World Cup.

I think there might be some subliminal Koeman angst here becase he robbed Engerland of a world cup place - there i said it.

They can play any way for me mate as long as they are successful.

I have no allegiance to England, in fact loved Koeman as a player.

They were both world stars, they both should get some respect out of the players which is a big thing after what we have seen with the current incumbent.

It is worth mentioning that both Cocu and De Boer were assistant managers when Netherlands narrowly lost in extra time to Spain in 2010's World Cup Final.

De Boer is a teammate of Guardiola. He is a young, flexible, ambitious coach who maximises youth and who would relish creating a brilliant team - I would love to see the players he would no doubt attract. It would be so exciting.

Koeman is older, and more of a Van Gaal or Hiddink. We should go for the former type. The exciting new breed. The Cruyff/Guardiola/De Boer/Cocu-Barcelona-total football connections.
