Tend to agree with Harry although Soton will give us a run for 7th.
You've got to take your hat off to them really...stripped of valuable assets every year but always bounce back. Their head of recruitment is damn good.

All for Koeman to prove himself then. If that awful manager could get us 5th...
That awful manager was left with a defensively disciplined squad , granted he added some attacking flair which contributed much to his first season's success, his remaining two seasons indicate that much of that credit belongs to Moyes.

can't see that. austin is a great goalscorer but massively injury prone, when he gets injured again where will the goals come from? palace are a bigger threat than soton imo, got a great squad building there.

yes, I think there are 2 or 3 teams (Palace included) who will be vying for the coveted 7th place trophy.
I love Everton but we have too many talent shortfalls/vagaries/inconsistencies to be better than 7th.
A squad overhaul is needed and I am realistic and reasonable enough to not presume RK can do such in one season.
Martinez really did some damage to Everton and expunging his legacy of ineptitude/ lassitude is at least a one season mission.
But I am optimistic for the future... the infrastructure to remedy the Martinez woes is being put in place

we'll be fine imo, we will probably spend big in january because of FFP let's not forget, otherwise we've cocked up massively and will need another big sale/very limited transfer activity next summer, which will be a problem, especially if we're in europe.

That's fair, I'm not sure how they can compete with the other 6 given their starting position compared to us, also many people weren't happy with the window so I'm not sure how any of them can expect us to be higher. Last time we finished higher than 7th UTD/Moyes SPURS/AVB had a stinker, that's what we would need to rely on.

Not necessarily disagreeing with the point you're making which is a fair one, but I also think that if we don't come close to at least the top 6 then we're under performing ourselves. We have some very good players in this team and we have made significant improvements to last seasons.

We have replaced Howard with Stekelenburg who has already earned us more points, we've got Williams who defends first and foremost in ahead of Stones and we've got Gueye who has been our best player so far.

And if we forget their world famous name and how much they've spent on players, can people honestly say Man United are that good a team themselves? They have de Gea who is arguably the best keeper in the world but Stekelenburg has matched him in a few games this season. After that they have a load of over hyped players and some once brilliant players who are now nearing the end of their careers in Rooney and Ibrahimovic.

The team I think that carries the most threat from outside the established clubs is Southampton but hopefully they stay in the Europa League for a bit and they lose concentration or tire.

Two or three quality additions in January and we're more than capable of pushing for/finishing top 6.

As it stands, I'd say 7th - based on the fact that realistically we're the 7th best team in the league.
