What an unbelieveable suggestion to appoint a manager with a proven track record in the premier league. I mean surely we should go with the legend Thomas tuchel or even Paulo fonseca who everyone has heard of. Both of these will instantly turn everton into top 4 competitors and beat all before them.. Yeah right.
Fact is we are in a relegation scrap, we need to go back to basics or the season could get very dangerous very quick. We need a big Sam to come In and tidy up and get us back to where we need to be because at the moment we are a country mile off. Sorry but anyone who thinks tuchel or fonseca or someone similar could do a better job in our situation really needs to have a think about it.

Now I agree we are in a real mess right now and perhaps a manager like allardice is the answer.

However the appointment has to be about status as well unfortunatly. We bring in a tuchel or other foreign coach and it looks like we are still showing ambition. The minute dyche/allardice/pulls rock up to goodison and that dies instantly and we go from being a club ready to challenge the top 6 to essentially a bottom half table.

It is a complete mess we are in right now make no mistake , there is still time to turn this around and for arguments sake a tuchel comes in and wins his first game and the league doesn't look so scary anymore. All we need right now is a win, back to back wins potentially could take us top half and relegation is already forgotton.

As I posted on another thread

The safest pair of hands to steady the ship for you is Big Sam IMO. He’d organise your defence he managed it with a back 4 of Jones,Kone,Kaboul,PVA with us. In fact we lost only something of 2 out of 16 games under him during the 2nd half of the 2015/16 season. And don’t think he’s teams play total turgid football we played some good stuff under him

I’m sure he’d do a job for you until the summer

I gave up any hope of our improving status when the club got angry birds printed on the shirt

“Sad” that it has come to this, but we have been dire since the early Europa games. Big Sam is exactly what we need; it wouldn’t be sexy, but I’ll take un-sexy football if it keeps us up”. Who at the moment can see where the next 32 points are coming from? We can’t defend, and look unlikely to score more than 1 if at all. Depressing.

Not as crazy as it sounds

We are 4 or 5 games away from needing to seriously consider this as a temporary measure until the end of the season

I wanted Unsworth to get a chance and I'm sure he'll get a few more games yet, but he's at played 2, lost 2 at the moment

We cannot allow ourselves to get relegated, so there has to come a point where we make an appointment to mitigate that possibility

For me, it's Allardyce with no compensation package as interim for 7 months until May or Dyche on a 3 or 4 year deal with a hefty compensation package.

With Allardyce we would be back to basics this season to avoid the drop. With Dyche we would have Allardyce football for the next couple of years.

For me, bring in Sam now as interim, with a very decent bonus for keeping us up and actually plan properly going forward.

The other advantage with Alardyce is that he is friends with Walsh. The club needs to start talking from the same page.
