For me, it's Allardyce with no compensation package as interim for 7 months until May or Dyche on a 3 or 4 year deal with a hefty compensation package.

With Allardyce we would be back to basics this season to avoid the drop. With Dyche we would have Allardyce football for the next couple of years.

For me, bring in Sam now as interim, with a very decent bonus for keeping us up and actually plan properly going forward.

The other advantage with Alardyce is that he is friends with Walsh. The club needs to start talking from the same page.
To be fair mate for the mess we are in we can't dismiss bringing him in neither. I want the best manager we can get of course but we are deluded to think we can't rule out someone to sort this mess our either

Not as crazy as it sounds

We are 4 or 5 games away from needing to seriously consider this as a temporary measure until the end of the season

I wanted Unsworth to get a chance and I'm sure he'll get a few more games yet, but he's at played 2, lost 2 at the moment

We cannot allow ourselves to get relegated, so there has to come a point where we make an appointment to mitigate that possibility

Why should he get more of a chance than that?

Leicester's interim manager actually beat Swansea away, an achievement we couldn't dream of right now but they still had a new manager installed the following week. Our interim has lost 2 and people want to give him a few more games. I really do despair. If Unsworth is in charge on Sunday, it shows that there is something desperately wrong with the club.

What happens if we appoint a new manager and he loses his first 2 games?

Would you rather be in the Championship traveling to Barnsley on a Wednesday night with a well dressed articulate overseas manager or would yo rather be slumming in the Prem mid-table with a English manager who chews a lot?

It's Big Sam all the way for me like.

It would feel like we are moving backwards, but we do look like a side in need of something radical and maybe Unsay lacks the experience to handle this situation. Whatever, I would hope that the club move quickly now to clarify exactly what the plan is, give Unsy a 5 game run, end of season or appoint a new man NOW.

Can’t see us appointing anyone till the international break, but I’d take Sam at this point till the end of the season as relegation is unthinkable yet turning into more of a reality by the day. How is our squad so atrocious after spending so much money, only Everton.

Someone like Allardyce has a track record which gives you confidence he can avoid the drop.

Unsworth doesn't and for me had a very limited time to gain trust of the fans that he had the skills to get us out of this mess.

The way he set up yesterday was so naive.

..I really don’t know who should be our next Manager. I’m not bothered who it is as long as they’re successful, which at this point in time is anything above 18th.

People are panicking WAY too early and starting to jump on board for getting a fire-fighter type manager in, which basically writes off the next 2-3 seasons due to panicking about going down.

I'd go the opposite, the teams that do panic early and get that type of manager in are usually the ones that go down within a couple of years anyway

Bolton left in 2007 went down in 2008
Newcastle left in 2008 went down in 2009
Blackburn left in 2010 went down in 2012
West Ham still in the division
Sunderland left in 2016 went down in 2017
Palace left in 2017 went down in 2018?

By the end of this season 5 of the 6 clubs he will have managed will have likely been relegated within 2 years of him leaving the job, can point to it being because the clubs are a mess when they call him in, can also maybe suggest that whilst he gets results he does nothing to ensure the club is stronger when he leaves than when he came in.

BTW interesting little thing to point out, we are often said to be wanting to mirror spurs model etc, in 2008 Spurs sacked Ramos after 8 games and where on 2 points at the time, they finished the season in 8th.

The year before they sacked Jol after 10 games - and sat third from bottom with 7 points, they finished 11th that season.

They went for Redknapp, Villas-Boas, Sherwood and then Pocchetino after those two.

We also have Barkley returning soon, Coleman and Bolasie and possibly Mori after the Christmas period. all four provide somethign we lack in key areas - in pace.

What we need to do is to stop picking player based on who they are, what they cost or what wages they are on and reputation.

What would fill you with more confidence right now out these two teams going into a game mate?

Pickford, Kenny, Jags, Williams, Baines, Gueye, Davies, Lennon, Mirallas, Rooney, DCL

or

Pickford, Kenny, Jagielka, Holgate, Baines, Banangime (sp), Schneiderlin, Davies, Lookman, Vlasic, Sigurdsson,

First team is the experienced on, second the youthful one with actual pace and energy
