Heard a whisper he wants a 3 year contract, Everton want 18 months

and also heard he want to bring in 15 staff of coaches dieticians and psychologists

If he was foreign you'd all be raving about his revolutionary training methods and progressive approach to the game.

Amazing what having a foreign name can do for a managers credentials in this country.

People say they want a manager who doesn't see us as a stepping stone yet at the same time want a big name foreign manager who will see us as nothing other than that.

The irony is that half the managers from abroad that are being mentioned have done nothing of note but just happen to be in leagues with less elite teams so manage to do stuff like win a cup, then get raved about as if they're the next messiah.

We all know British managers aren't given decent chances at big clubs. For those who would point to Moyes, I'd say look at how he wasn't backed in the transfer market properly and wasn't given as much time as Van Gaal just because of Van Gaal's reputation. It becomes a self fulfilling prophecy.

We're not rich enough to compete with the elite clubs financially so what we should be doing is capitalizing on that bias against British managers by appointing them.

They'll be more loyal, they'll stay longer term and they'll be more determined to break in to the top 6 instead of a foreign manager who will be more like Koeman, believing that until we spend the same amount of money we have no chance to compete.

Be careful what you wish for.

There is nothing that could happen that would ever make me want Allardyce managing Everton. It is embarrassing enough already without having that clown in charge of us too. We have already been stabbed and it would be like twisting the knife.

Everton need to do better and appoint a genuine quality manager that can sort us out now and the future and not resort to desperation imo.

Omg after these 3 games since Koeman gone I change my mind because he should keep us up and all those big name just won't join anyway. This is grim.

This is panic.

Ding ding ding. Here’s the if he was called Allardici stuff. He’s never struggled to get jobs. He messed up the England job. He quite Palace. He struggled when he had proper money. His methods were never revolutionary, he just saw what was happening abroad and applied them and well done to him for that. The game has caught up and wildly overtaken him. As it has done to British coaching overall

yeah you're right i think we should stick with unsworth instead.

Just appoint a proven fire fighter to get us safe this for this season. Dreams of trophies and proper runs in Europe can come down the line once this mess is cleaned up.

We could seriously get relegated people, there's too many who aren't grasping how deeply concerning this is. We're a quarter of a way through the season and we can't even buy a clean sheet or a goal. Many teams that have gone down in recent years have showed plenty more spirit than we're showing, it's THAT bad. We could be dead and pretty much buried by January if we carry on with these types of performances, and even if we aren't if we're still lingering down there what players can we bring in in January who'll pull us up the table?

Offer him a cushy one year deal. He'll get us safe, make himself a right few quid and be able to add "Managed Everton" to his record before getting back on his sun lounger. We tip our hat and then try to move forward in the next few years with another bloke and hopefully put this bad time behind us.

Thing is people shouldn't be realising big Sam is the answer now, after tonight's game. The signs have been there for weeks now.

Absolute shambles, which has been compounded by even more poor decisions since Koeman got the hook

Under no circumstances should we appoint this man.
In my opinion, there will always be somebody better than him available.
We are Everton and we can do far, far better than this charlatan with a questionable pedigree and moral standards to say the least

The whole thing is a farce. As bad as Koeman was I seriously doubt he was going to get us relegated. We might as well have just persisted with him until the end of the season rather than bring this beaut in.
