What has Sam Allardyce ever achieved to warrant this job?
Saved numerous basket cases from relegation. We are that basket case despite a lucky win.

No No and No. we don't need him ffs.I remember him serving up some decent football when he had decent teams with Bolton and West Ham. The West H side he had with Downing playing at ten was actually quite good to watch.
Look the football under Koeman was horrific but no one cared when we were winning, the football under Martinez from that Palace game onwards was just as bad. We’re judging the likes of Allardyce and Dyche before they’ve even kicked s ball with us. Who knows with more resources what they might produce? If he can muster up a derby win I don’t really care how he does it.
Perhaps the football and how it is played. There is nothing wrong with a bit of snide, which Allardyce has in abundance.
But in terms of the club and what it stands for, I hold Everton to a higher standard. This is the People's Club and there are virtues and ethical standards to uphold.
I would be ashamed if we, as a club, were involved with some of the shady business dealings Allardyce has been complicit in.

I'm just listening to McFadden wax lyrical about Moyes. Moyes despite his snakey end to his Everton time, did massive, massive things for this club- & couldn't have been more of a humble gent when I've met him. 10x the man big Sam is.I wish people would give this 'Peoples Club' a rest. A phrase initiated by one D. Moyes, possibly the most unethical self promoting secretive manager ever.. Secret deals with Man utd and West Ham being a couple of highlights in the dark internet of his career.
Tomorrow then.No we are not. The day we appoint a shyster like Allardyce is the day we become a basket case......
Tomorrow then.
I think it's important to see if the win changes the complexion of the team or not. As crap as we have been, I think a massive part of that was due to a lack of confidence beginning with early thrashings against the top 4 and essentially bowing out of Europe due to Koeman's idiocy. Palace is a must winHonestly, rather than bring in Allardyce now, you may as well give Unsworth another three or four games, because we're not even confirmed to be in a relegation battle now thanks to that win.
If Allardyce is simply a fire fighter, why not hold out to see if there's a fire to fight? Even if we give Unsworth another four games, that'd leave 23 games for Allardyce to get to 40 points. Bare in mind we've been as bad as it's humanly possible to be and we've still got 11 points, then it's still unlikely to me to see us in a real struggle in March, especially after you have to imagine we'll invest in fresh blood in January.
Just don't see the benefit of bringing Allardyce in right now given the drawbacks he has - he quite literally sends the message to the footballing world that we're finished in terms of ambition and we're delighted to be alongside the West Broms of this world in terms of prestige. Sure, that's a price worth paying for survival at all costs, but it's the "at all costs" part I don't think we're at yet.
Good question, Doc.
I am not one of these fellows who keeps an eye on up and coming managers or even established managers in foreign leagues.
Everyone keeps mentioning Tuchel but I know little or nowt about him.
But of those managers I do know off, both home and abroad, I am a great admirer of Simeone’s work at Atletico Madrid and I reckon he might be worth approaching.
But one thing I do know.
Allardyce being appointed would be the death knell for this club’s historic standing in this country.
Although we have won nowt in donkey’s years, we are still relevant and respected through our sheer longevity in the top flight.
Appointing Allardyce will be the start of a slippery slope which will start with us finally becoming a club like Baggies, Barcodes, Stoke, Saints etc. and move on by replicating the yo yo existence these clubs experience up and down the divisions for the rest of my lifetime.
And beyond an Allardyce appointment, because he will be fired after 15 months or so, what bottom feeders will be up for the job next time?
We will be well on the Pardew, Coleman, Pulis circuit at that stage
I have an awful dread hanging over me now, Doc
