20 + years of European football, all but 2 Champions league footy.

the bloke knows how to build a team and go for trophies.

the Arsenal fans have hounded him out as if he were Sam Allardyce.

they want to try supporting us for a year or 2, they would beg for Wenger again.

The Arsenal fans have "hounded him out" because they have the most expensive prices in the League and yet have not seen their side come close to winning the league

The fact their fans are annoyed at Wenger is an example of why Arsenal are a big club and we aren't any more

I used to think differently myself, and think they were being churlish, but I actually accept their viewpoint now, much as it pains me to have to agree with Gooners

anyone who doesn't genuinely think Wenger would better us and push us on are deluded.

he has just grown stale at Arsenal, 22 years does that, plus having his hands tied and not being able to financially compete with the top 4 but still winning trophies and remaining in Europe is nothing to sniff at.

Not only can we not attract proven quality managers (although frankly Wenger is actually that), we also wouldn’t be able to attract young up and coming managers (tuchel, nagelsmann etc)

So who do we appoint? Nonsense like Silva?

He wouldn't win anything with us

He'd secure us in 7th and maybe take us on a cup run, that'd be it

Literally mindblown by how many "Oui" votes there are on this one.

Considering Wenger for manager is a little bit like when you fall for that bird at school that's absolutely bangin - but never made a move because you never felt like you were in her league.

She grows up, moves to Runcorn, has 3 kids with double barreled first names to a fella named Webbo - gets divorced but keeps the the house.

It's 15 years later and you're out with the lads on a day sesh, sinking on average 11 pints of Staropramen an hour.
It's late, and you consider heading off - but Popworld beckons.

You enter. She's there. Dropping it to Eiffel 65 with her mates, whilst duel wielding WKD Red.

Do you go for it, based on what she used to be. Or make a move, before she gets any worse.

Seriously though, are we messing even discussing this relic?!

He’s won the cup 3 times in 4 years and qualifies for the champs league every year bar one but he’s not good enough for Everton.

Give me Preston’s manager, the bloke who relegated Wigan or the bloke from Southampton.

Wake up ffs.

Lets see then Premier League 3 times, FA Cup 7 times, Community Shield 7 times.

Ermm tough one that. Of course yes. Its an absolute no brainer regardless of his age. We currently have someone who has never won anything of note in his whole career.

Making some excellent points in here today Frank

Watching him sniff round you for scraps is painful, throw him the odd bone and off he goes combining 2 or 3 other posters valid points into one post so he appears to know what he's talking about.

Throw him another bone mate before he scurries off again.

Horrible to see the state of it.

We interview people and try to find someone who has a long term plan and is also willing to come here

That might mean getting someone "unfashionable" or "unproven", but so be it

Silva and Howe are a no from me

Wenger is a no

Dyche is a cautious yes, because I think he's ready to step up and genuinely think he'll be a great manager

Someone younger and less experienced but with Wenger helping out in an advisory capacity (Arteta maybe?) would be my ideal scenario

I would even accept Wenger coming in for a set period of time as manager with a #2 who he would then prepare for the #1 role in a couple of years. Arteta again maybe as assistant coach to Wenger, with Wenger then handing over the reigns once Arteta has sat under the learning tree for a couple of seasons? In that situation there would at least be a long term plan in place, which I could go along with, and Wenger wouldn't be then expected to do anything other than get the next manager ready, so there'd be less pressure on him

And, if we really want to push the boat out and make a statement, go for Joachim Loew

I thought we were friends mush x

I think Wenger is a good manager mate, but I wouldn`t want to bang him under any circumstances.

I hope that helps ?
