Better than sitting back and *not* defending, which was one of last season's favourite tactical approaches.

We never used to sit back for 90 mins. We used to try and attack (however ineffective that was last term) but were totally inept in defence cos it was unorganized. In an era where we need to be be optimistic, it would hurt to see us going away to OT, Emirates, Anfield, Etihad, Stamford with 0% intent to win but to get a draw and likewise away at WHL, King Power and St Mary he'll be as pragmatic as hell looking to salvage any slender lead if he gets only to restore to defend it for the rest of the game only to be undone between 80th and 90th min. Usual press conferences of "We deserved something out of the game" will follow.

The time has changed, expectations have changed. The least we can do is try to be ambitious.

Oh I don't think for a moment Moyes is coming back. Just making a funny.

To be fair, he cannot spend within 11 years, unless he sell the good players in team. Yes, he win nothing but first we should ask how many resource he got from club? Nearly nothing, he need to fight in league whole season with 14-15 qualified players, if someone injured, some youth player without sufficient quality still need to join the competition. Under this circumstance, Moyes still can build up the excellent team, consistent top 10 with occasionally european competitions. He is brilliant manager and completely not related to “no ambition” at all.

Brilliant? He was awful but at a club who couldn't afford any better. His best quality, and even thou I couldn't stand him I always gave him a lot of credit for the cheap players he bought, he was great at getting players in with zero budget, but then days for Everton and everyone else have gone.
Good at spending nothing but with money to spend he would be a total disaster as he wouldn't know what to do with it and after 12 years as a manager he has no reputation to speak of, no chance to bring in decent players with him around.

David Moyes turned Everton around last time and made us consistent in the league with very limited resources , he was a master at the 1-0 boring wins , I know he won nothing in 10 years but he still done a very good job with what he had .

I think the reason most fans would not like him back is because of the way he left us for Man Utd and then after saying he would not try and take players from us , we had the Baines / Felleni saga . nothing to do with his ability as a manager?

He is not my 1st choice to replace Roberto , but he would not be as bad as some people are making out to be if he was selected as the next manager of Everton . just my humble opinion .

So Yes I would have him back but only if We can not get the other candidates that are on our short list ( 3 more dropped out the running today according to reports , Koeman , Favre and Emery) Leaving De Boar and Pellegrini the only other managers I would like to see take charge of Everton

Moyes is an Everton blood traitor. BK should be ashamed for having picked up the phone to dial him. He never had any true respect for us.

You can tell who's 25 and under, they actually treat moyes years like theyre glory years. Sad

I don't see it as the glory years but it's easily as good as it's been for us.

The years before him were abysmal, and since he's left we've started to slide back down the same path. I'd never want him back but he did very well here and there's no point denying otherwise.

If we could have got Moyes in in February till the end of the season and told him he could stay on a year if he won the cup i'd have gone with that. Now we should have quite a few options so no I don't want Moyes back. He was brilliant at dragging us up and giving us some respect back but he failed in taking us to the next level and I see no reason why he could do it now.

I don't think anyone would disagree that gave us a degree of respectability again, but he sought to lower our expectations and keep us in our place......it's time our fans and our team begin to roar again........No Moyes thanks........

I do not want, nor do I think Moyes will be back. But I am also terrified that we even have to talk about this.
