Better than sitting back and *not* defending, which was one of last season's favourite tactical approaches.
Oh I don't think for a moment Moyes is coming back. Just making a funny. We never used to sit back for 90 mins. We used to try and attack (however ineffective that was last term) but were totally inept in defence cos it was unorganized. In an era where we need to be be optimistic, it would hurt to see us going away to OT, Emirates, Anfield, Etihad, Stamford with 0% intent to win but to get a draw and likewise away at WHL, King Power and St Mary he'll be as pragmatic as hell looking to salvage any slender lead if he gets only to restore to defend it for the rest of the game only to be undone between 80th and 90th min. Usual press conferences of "We deserved something out of the game" will follow.
The time has changed, expectations have changed. The least we can do is try to be ambitious.
To be fair, he cannot spend within 11 years, unless he sell the good players in team. Yes, he win nothing but first we should ask how many resource he got from club? Nearly nothing, he need to fight in league whole season with 14-15 qualified players, if someone injured, some youth player without sufficient quality still need to join the competition. Under this circumstance, Moyes still can build up the excellent team, consistent top 10 with occasionally european competitions. He is brilliant manager and completely not related to “no ambition” at all.
You can tell who's 25 and under, they actually treat moyes years like theyre glory years. Sad
Director of football with Giggs as head coach.
And Joey Barton as head of youth development.......
I don't see it as the glory years but it's easily as good as it's been for us.
The years before him were abysmal, and since he's left we've started to slide back down the same path. I'd never want him back but he did very well here and there's no point denying otherwise.
Could be onto something here Pete.
