The evident is so obvious, why do we have to wait until the last week of transfer window to put in a bid? I'm not complaining about home office delay or valencia coming in to hijack the bid. That's not even what I wanted to debate about. Does it mean that I have no life and just a nonsense just becuase my view differs from yours?

Your views are nonsense because they are not based on fact FACT!

Who said we only made the bid last week? I seem to remember Ian Ross announcing a few back that we had made a bid. Just because it only became public did not mean that it was made then.

Benfica state on their official site that they had only recieved a bid from us last week. That's official as far as I'm concern.

In what way is it not fact? FACT is we only bid last week! For both of them. And I'm questioning why did we place in a bid so close to the end of transfer window, now that one deal is down we don't have time to find a replacement.

If you wish to debate, learn from ghost, he gave me a good reason to my questions.

Benfica are the lairs in all of this, you would rather believe a club who was dealing witha third party behind the scenes, namely Valencia than your own board, you need a loyalty transfusion pal. Benfica had not only accepted our bid two weeks ago but they even allowed that player to train at GP, smell the bloody roses and listen to the facts.

Facts don't require debate they speak for themselves. FACT.

I might be stating the obvious here, but as i see it, ( correct me if i'm wrong )

I reckon as he was part owned by an agent (which is [Poor language removed] wrong to begin with ), the FA did not want another Teves fiasco on their hands, we only offered the players half, the agent wasn't happy with the deal, Valencia offered to pay the full amount ( i take it that Valencia now own him 100% ?
This transfer was too complicated from the start, and all because of the [Poor language removed] leeches (agents) that are destroying the game.
On a different note, decision on Yak's work permit decided by wednesday, although i guess that information is posted elsewhere in the blueroom.
My advice~ make a bid for Berbatov incase the Yak deal goes the same way.

I don't think the Yak deal is in danger he always has to appeal for a permit due to him always falling out with Nigeria. Hopefully We'll see him and A.N Other before the end of the transfer window....Preferably Vogell and someone else.

I don't need a loyalty transfusion and I don't need you to teach me either. Like I say many times, we should have bid for manny at the end of last season, not at the end of transfer window. Had we failed to get him few months back we would have given our chance to find a replacement. Not with the panic buy or not even buying situation we have to face now. So much for FACT.

i hope you're right zero, imagine friday arriving and nothing came of any of the two transfers, i'td be a bit of a downer that one, oh well lets hope for the best eh!

BK + MOYES OUT!!!

No not really :D I think they're doing a fine job(yes really).
I'm still not 100% convinced about Yakubu though. He is really going to have to get with the Everton work rate and our 'win or die trying' attitude, he can't think it is ok to be anonymous in games, ever!
We'll see, rather have him than not have him tbh. Like someone else said, I'd prefer to start a fully fit Vaughan over Yakubu though, unless something amazing comes from the man before James is fully fit.

I don't think they are offering more money than us, or paying the agents half of the transfer fee.

I just think it comes down to ambition from the player and he obviously doesn't feel that CL football is going to come as easy to a side outside of the top 4 (3 if Platini has his way).

Which although is understandable is very much unfair on the rest who want to compete. If Sky for instance were not so hell bent on this top 4 then the way the EPL (Lord??? Division 1 to purists) is portrayed to players outside of the UK would seem more attractive. As it is, if you don't play for top 4, forget it. Berbatov won't be at Spurs next season, if not this week.

Interesting to see how the top 4 in Spain and Italy is over the years, I'm sure its not the same as our country.

We didn't have the money to bid for Manny at the end of the season. Money has only just become available because obviously BK has had a chin wag with Earl and got him to either lend some money or underwrite a loan.

didnt we have to take out the 'with veiw to a permenant deal' clause out of his loan contract???

if so we might have had to wait a certain time before we could bid for him!

Wouldn't the 12.5 million that Valencia have reportedly offered cover the agents fee as well ?, did we offer 6 million for 50% in the player ?
CL football with Valencia must have come into it when he heard of their offer but after he was supposed to have promised to sign for us his turnaround is hard to take.
