Positives of playing in the Championship

It might be enjoyable to be playing the likes of Bristol City and Rotherham every week because we’d probably get more wins than we get now, but the stadium project would obviously collapse and we’d be a laughing stock.

And financially we would never recover, that’s if we survived.

Better aways
Lots of fans would swerve it -  Nah
More chance of winning something - ✅
A more Northern-focused league - ✅
Lots of fans would swerve it -  Nah
No VAR - tick ✅ ✅ ✅
Playoffs could be good - ✅
More cup games - ?

Club would likely go bust and we fans would have free time/more money - Nah.

A mate of mine who is a United fan always says one of his favourite seasons ever was the one they spent in division 2 as it was back then.

He said the football was great to watch, they were by far the best side and there was no pressure, it was just a season of joy and laughs plus he got to go to loads of grounds he never would normally have gone to.

And we're  Waaaaaay past laughing stock too

It's easier to rebuild
Maybe finally the entire board would go and the owner sell up
But it would be financial armageddon that we will never recover from
The financial Armageddon argument is just fear of the unknown.

3 clubs get relegated every year and normally pop back up within a few years unscathed. Often better for the relegation.
Leicester, Man City, Newcastle, Wolves, Fulham ,Villa, Brentford, Palace are just teams off the top of my head who have been relegated recently and are now doing better than us.

Weren't people saying Burnley would totally disappear up that 60m financial blackhole.

In reality all they did was find some gullible mugs to sign McNeill then sold Collins and Cornet for nearly 40m and got Weghorst wages off their books.

Of course it's a club with different expectations but I reckon the Burnley fans are more engaged seeing them play some exciting football under Kompany with a much refreshed and younger 11 than any of their last four seasons in the prem.

I can see them being a surprise package back in prem next season.

Norwich and Watford have been more up and doing but both are still in the top 6.
