Mate, they had "two players" with the virus two days ago and now apparently a whole squad. In two days.

All of these people had the virus two days ago, obviously.

It's a half measure. Either you have a zero tolerance "positive test and we cancel" mentality, or you get on with it.

Or at least disclose the threshold.

They're winging it.

"Safety first"

Behave.

£££.

Indeed, that's my argument - make them make the call so we have clarity. Show a backbone. As it stands, the league have accepted a forfeiture with no consequences and imposed the decision on Everton with no rule to back it up.

So why are we pissing millions of pounds up the wall using it then?
Well, we're not pissing millions up the wall as you're suggesting. Yes they're less reliable, but they are one tool in the arsenal of testing and tracing within the UK.

If you get a positive using a LF test, you're obliged to take a more reliable PCR test to prove that you are positive, which removes the likelihood of false positives.

The false-negatives is more of a concern, however the quicker and cheaper LF tests improve the shear number of people who can be tested on a daily basis.

Even if you're looking at 50% false negatives, which is a worst case scenario by the way, 50% of say 250,000 tests is 125,000 still correct - that's helpful.

That's 125,000 tests that would not have took place without the use of lateral-flow tests.

Is there?

What's the magic number then?

Didn't we bail on the derby because of one player?

"After the latest round of Covid-19 testing, the club returned a number of positive cases, in addition to the four already reported on Christmas Day. With the security of the bubble compromised...."

Wasn't it compromised on Christmas Day with four? They played boxing day.
I don’t know, but I’d like to think someone’s made an informed decision on the number of cases, the rate it’s spreading through their club and decided anyone else who comes into contact is likely to catch it too.
