I think that's the nub of it, tbh.

Covid19 turbo-charged at the minute and clubs playing 4 games in 8 days or whatever. It's ridiculous in normal seasons, never mind in this one.

The problem is, that this argument has been greatly weakened by the crass, ridiculous and charmless way it has been articulated by Klopp.

The fact we wasn't told or had any decision in it being postponed changes things here, depends how many players are out I presume but I'd imagine anyone else except the RS would be asked to use their squads to field an 11

Everton have just paid ground staff for work. 2,000 fans have just taken largely unnecessary COVID tests and possibly spent money on travel. The team have just trained and prepared for a game only for it to be called off arbitrarily at a few hours notice.

There has to be some sort of comeuppance for all this, or clubs could cause chaos whenever they wanted to.

It sounds like the process of deciding what should happen favoured the glamour team here which is something Everton hierarchy should kick up a stink about. We need to make it clear that Everton aren’t a club to be walked all over!

As for the match, im not upset we get a few days extra to prepare for a match given how hectic it is

My initial reaction was that I was gutted, because I was set on having a few beers watching the blues and no work tomorrow. But now I've thought about it, it benefits us to have the extra rest before the west ham game.

I'd feel very uneasy if Everton were to be seen demanding a forfeit, though. The circumstances are that this is a pandemic that's at its height and these players are prime targets for infection.

Some dont help themselves, it's true. But all talk of blame and demands for points are off the table.

Because their use in mass testing is sill very useful in helping control the virus, even if the reliability is lower.
