Spot on. It's been far bigger world news than Gorbechev dying, a lot of that to do with her still being a serving monarch, rather than someone dying of old age when he's been out of the spotlight for years.

Part of the reason for the difference is the Queen has been head of state for 70 years. Gorbachov was for 6.

I agree Stevie, and I know we're focused on our own club but I don't believe our injury list is any worse than most and once we get motoring I believe our squad as a whole is good enough to climb comfortably clear of the relegation zone.
We want to get our injured players back but a weekend break will not advantage us over others.

There are going to be three teams relegated, gone , hundreds of millions £at stake.
An unfair league with 38games to play.

The teams, especially any that think they might be in a dog fight at the bottom need to sit the Premier League down and say NO relegation , or the season is 4weeks longer , finishes in June.
You just cant squeeze in this many games .Do it now.

From a purely football point of view its a pre season for us with the completed squad, DCL included, and Pickford will be back by the time the next game is played. So can only be a good thing I reckon.

But from a wider standpoint being dictated to about what we're allowed to do or not do in this way makes my blood boil.
