Agreed, I would like to see what would happen if Del played behind Rom for a bit. See how well he could handle that role.

Barkley and Funes Mori have been the most disappointing for me, and I bet Koeman is fuming at half time about how slow the ball is moving at times. Bad habits die hard. There were several times where Dresdin stupidly played around with it at the back until we got a giveaway, but then we made no attempt to do anything with it, or just walked up and softly handed it to a defender(Barkley).

yep some very lethargic togger by those you mentioned. I'd like to think we've now got a manager who would give them an absolute roasting.

Still, better to do it now and iron out the issues before the big kick off.

it's pre-season. I'd rather him concentrate on getting back to being fully fit.

It was a mistake and it happens. Better to iron them out now and get used to the new defensive system now than in two week's time

We have to remember that Koeman is still weighing up his options and we are very much in an experimental stage. Davies is hot and cold which is understandable given his experience and minutes with the first team. Barkley hasn't come to life but saying that cannot diss him for that reason alone as he has been steady. Coleman maybe is in a bad habit of defending the box rather than shutting down his man. Del is dangerous, Kev is still well short of his best but can see him working harder on the closing down. Some good signs but can do better which is what Koeman will be asking of them
