Still doesn't prove he's got the reputation and respect to waltz into a top club and expect full control.

He's won nothing. All he's done is be able to over achieve within restraints. Bigger, better managers havent had full control of their clubs. Mourinho has only ever had full control of porto (arguably)...he's never been in full control of inter, Chelsea and real. And Moyes is meant to be up with him?

How many clubs actually have a director of football? If Rodgers can demand control at Liverpool then Moyes is within his rights to ask for it wherever he ends up. The excuse will always be that Moyes has won nothing because of the restraints at Everton. If you look at all the young managers mentioned (Rodgers, Lambert, Martinez, Di Matteo, Poyet, Laudrup etc) only the Chelsea man actually has silverware to his name.

He showed Aston Villa great respect so I wouldn't be surprised if he ****s on Everton again to big up himself.

I personally think you could give £100m to Moyes he would not be able to change us into a top 4 side consistently. I don't rate a man who replaces Wayne Rooney with James Beattie, but he's definitely made a great career for himself. He's tactically awful and relies on players to dig him out of holes by shouting at them to run harder.

David Moyes: "There has been no contact (with Spurs) if there had been contact, the first person I would have told would be the chairman."

The most telling quote in the whole thread. What does the above say about the manager: he is highly regarded by everyone, but less so by people who have actively watched his teams for ten years.

That's it. The pros outweigh the cons and we'd probably be a lot less stable without him, but he's not the greatest manager or the greatest tactician in the world and there's a good chance that we'd play more attractive football under somebody else. I think I'd rather stick to being at the right end of the table and hoping that our football develops than take a gamble on a manager who could end up taking us down though.

Damn it. Spurs have not sounded him out. Bastards. Don't they see he's Sir Alex in disguise? [Poor language removed].

Also said he was sorry that Harry lost his job. He said spurs have had the money. He would like to fulfill his ambitions at everton but in football u never know what's going to happen.

If the Barkley result at Everton is the same as the Rooney result under our Ginger God then Moyes can **** off.

Barkley is class. Anyone who has seen him play knows that. If he ends up fulfilling his ambitions at another club Moyes can **** off.

The likes of Barkley, Baxter, Wallace and others are only given chances to prove how poor we are financially and how we don't back him. He doesn't inspire them or believe in them.

He's obsessed with this media-inspired 'protection' of young players that is just utter bull****. He holds players back and just look at Rodwell's 'progress' or Coleman's to believe in this. Look at his quote about how Coleman looks like a 60k player at times, he's just all about himself. Look at Michael Owen, Maradona, Pele. Players don't peak when they are 28, they are at their best when they are young.

Just look at Gerrard to prove this.

I want Barkley in the side next August.

Duffy too should not be sent out on loan but kept around. We can all see this why can't Moyes?

Come on Spurs, take him!

there 2 main targets are benitez and AVB but they wont come if there is no money to spend or bale and modric want to leave,
there in the same situation liverpool where when they wanted a manager all of the top ones will say no.

Spurs woudn't touch a no-mark like Moyes with a shitty stick. That'll be why there's been no contact.

On Sporting Life:

Everton boss David Moyes insists there has been 'no contact' from Tottenham over their managerial vacancy.

The Goodison Park manager has been linked with a summer switch to White Hart Lane following Spurs' shock decision to part company with Harry Redknapp in the early hours of Thursday morning.

Moyes celebrated 10 years with the Toffees in March of this year and is highly regarded for his achievements on Merseyside on a relatively limited budget.

Former Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas remains the firm favourite to over in North London with the bookmakers, with Moyes and Wigan manager Roberto Martinez also in the frame.

But the Scot has made it clear that that no-one from Tottenham had made any approach to him in either a formal or informal capacity.

Moyes: "There has been no contact. If there had been contact, the first person I would have told would be the chairman.
"I hope I can fulfil all my ambitions at Everton, but you never know in this game."
