BBC Sport's Phil McNulty on Twitter: "Feel free to come back to me on this one but I get a growing sense that David Moyes will not be the next Tottenham manager."

Finger on the pulse again, Phil. Horrible [Poor language removed].

Oh well that makes losing to QPR at home okay then.

I would say moyes has got it right more often than he has got it wrong here...league finishes of 5,6,7 etc prove that. Sure he's not the messiah that some people make out, but he definetely isnt as bad as some make out either. If he goes i'd be gutted...this season does feel like 'the seaon' to do something...problem is its felt like that for a few years now...

Neiler asked who people would have out of Redknapp and Moyes. Just to compare stable old David Moyes to Harry Redknapp.

Harry Redknapp joined Spurs just before November 2008 and there were serious relegation fears. He was given the green light to spend more than £30m on the likes of Defoe, Keane and Palacious to try and cement their Premiership survival. However since then, in his full three seasons in charge, he has finished 4th twice.

In his three subsequent and only full seasons in charge - he has actually spent MINUS £13m net on transfers. Last season his only major signing was Scott Parker, £5m, Adeybayor on loan, Friedel on a free. He brought in nearly £30m selling the likes of Crouch, Pavluychenko, Palacious and Keane. Yet he still finished 4th.

The season prior, 2010-11, he only spent around £13m while bringing in £6m through sales. Redknapp has done a fantastic job at Spurs, yet still gets fired.

Imagine what he could do at Everton, with less pressure. He'd move players out of the club for sure, a lot more than Moyes has, but would be a lot more creative and less boring than Moyes. I do not box Redknapp into a category, I think he could cope with the 'no money' at Everton. I'd expect Cup Finals, CL place chases, he'd have Barkley coming through, Duffy, maybe not be so harsh on some youngsters like Baxter (who is still only 20!) who have shown promise.

If Moyes does go to Spurs then I'd love to swap him for Redknapp. He might get us much more media exposure, we'd be seen as a big club rather than a small club, and players want to play for him. He could also wipte out some of the club's debt with his dealings and still maintain our progress.

I know I'm dreaming because hardly anyone who wants Moyes out would want Redknapp in.

Just to clarify one point there...Daniel Levy sold those players, not Redknapp.

Look back at Pompey and West Ham when Redknapp upgraded his players which he looks to do every 6 months, the previous incumbents have sat in the reserves not playing and sponging salaries; effectively disposed of by Harry. Levy is magnificent at getting the best possible return when selling Tottenham players, alas Mandaric wasn't able to do that and look at the mess it left Portsmouth in.

Ya, i hated our 3-1 win over manu, our 4-4 draw, our 2-1 win of chelsea, our 1-0 win over chelse, our 1-0 win over mancity and our 4 strait wins over them the past two seasons. really didnt enjoy them.

You're only allowed to cherry pick the poor results here.

What the fck to people expect moyes to do when his got world class players like Hilbert, neville,Oman,Gibson, anichebe,Dustin, strag to work with, some people need to get real.

Our squad at the start of the season should have done far better - wether we signed anyone or not.

I can imagine Moyes weighing it up and it coming down to the relationship that he'd have with the chairman.

Redknapp turned around a club that was struggling with relegation. He finished 4th (Spurs' best Premier League finish), 5th and 4th. Took them to the Quarter final of the Champions League. Won Manager of the Year. Developed players like Walker, Bale and Modric. As well as recruiting Van der Vaart, Parker and Adebayor. All without spending any where near the sort of money that City, United, Chelsea or even Liverpool throw around. And yet he's unceremoniously dumped for no particular reason at all. Compared to the relationship Davey enjoys with Kenwright, he would surely be concerned about how he could get on with Levy.

Looking at Tottenham's transfer policy they spent £125m in Redknapp's first season only players including Keane, Defoe, Pavluchenko, Modric and Bentley, although some of those will have been Ramos' signings. Since then there have been more outs than ins though. Harry recouped £75m of that initial outlay and is about £4m up with his deals since then by my reckoning. Since they missed out on the Champions League for a second year running, I really don't think they'll be throwing a lot of money around. In fact it's reported that Bale, Modric and Van der Vaart are considering leaving.

On balance would it really be that much of a step up from Everton?

Moyes is quite sensible, he will know if he stays here he can get away with finishing pretty much anywhere as expectations are low and Everton constantly punch above their weight etc. Opposite at Tottenham though, expectations are high, and if he doesnt finish in the top 4 he will be fired on the spot.

That's the same at any job looking for big success if youre the man in charge.

If they come in hell be off like a shot. No thinking needed to be done, hell be gone.

He's not gonna be picky if he wants a club to match his "ambitions"

The difference here is that Tottenham had the 125 million to float and recruit a much larger squad, in order to sell the peripheral players.

Hell get a big kitty from those sales.

It'll be a step up in terms of funds available and the attraction of the club for players.

I can't see am argument saying spurs isn't a step up right now in the modern era of the league. Theyre a top 4 club

If Redknapp had left Spurs to take the England job and they had cash to buy more Van der Vaart's, I'm sure that the job would be almost too good to turn down. As it stands the chairman comes across as a very difficult man to please, a number of the star players are unsettled and Harry's legacy is a difficult thing to live up to.

So Redknapp gets no credit, just Levy? Lol. In that case let's give Moyes no credit for some of our good business and give it all to Kenwright/the board/the behind the scenes!

On the pitch too, as well as off it, Redknapp has worked wonders. His West Ham days I'm sure Hammers would love to re-live.

He's a wheeler and dealer for sure, but it's up to the chairman/board to set the tone for what he does. I think Kenwright/Redknapp could be the dream ticket (LOL)
