Totally off the wall here but I was reading this article about the new MLS expansion team, the Seattle Sounders.

He makes some interesting comparisons between Obama, demographics, and soccer.

I'm not an expert on American politics, but I do know who has been President for the last 8 years, and I've also read Alan Greenspan's The age of Turbulence

I'm not sure how an Everton related board gets to such weighty matters but here's my take on who is at fault for the sub-prime crisis:

1. Alan Greenspan
2. Mortgage Lenders
3. Investment Banks
4. Hedge Funds and other high yield investors
5. The Credit Rating Agencies
6. Mortgage Brokers
7. The consumer


All bar the consumer knew what was happening, some consumers might have known but decided to ignore the risks, but the majority would have had no idea.....

I would actually agree with most of those but Congress (both parties) has to be on that list as well.

I think the fact that a major breakthrough has occurred in World History is the most important factor. Not that it's Obama, or Jesse Jackson, but the fact a Black man has been appointed into the White House.

I'm sure he will be the most targetted man in the world by some bigots, but I believe he has already made a difference by getting hundreds of black inner city delinquents to get up and vote and realise that they can make a difference to their race - just by getting off their arse and doing it. It may also break down the barriers that some black people still have against white people.

And lets be honest, he can't do any worse than Bush, who apparently is less popular than the disgraced Richard Nixon.

I'm not getting off on it, but he is black, be it halfcast or not, he is Black and he has got your country excited about being American again. Which of course is good news for us too.
