VAR in principal is a good thing, the problem is the people who are overseeing it at games. They need to get people in who are impartial because getting referees doing it isn't (stating the obvious) working.
Id say its also the poor quality of refereeing that currently exists in the prem, even physically some of them are really out of shape like jon moss for example. Id say foreign referees who speak english should be brought in to stockley park.

Hopefully this becomes a wider concern, especially as the numbers are still high and key workers are still struggling to get tested

Using the metric that tests are not an infinate number available, then every PL one is one not available for front line key workers, the general population, nor other sporting professionals.

I find that utterly repugnant.

Sports professionals are at the bottom of the food chain these days. I wish they realise that.

That’s my point they may not want to pay out prize money if voided , the last quarter of the season is probably there most exciting time , more games shown possibly better viewing figures losing a quarter of your tv revenue is a huge amount of money to all clubs with the possibility of even less next season as well . Don’t forget sky have postponed anyone’s sky sports subscription until the sport is resumed . A business getting less revenue is not going to want to put themselves in financial straits too .

Has anyone actually got in contact with them to seriously begin these discussions though? It looks like we've wasted time going down a wild goose chase to have a dangerous conclusion. I mean if I was a broadcaster, I would tell them to sling their summer circus, particularly if there is no relegation.

Apart from Bolton, who were never likely to catch Tranmere let alone MK, there would be a lot of legalities to sort. Stevenage would have a case that they could catch Macc now they’ve had the deduction, likewise Rovers with the Dons. Portsmouth and Sunderland, the former more so would have a case for losing out on the playoffs

At the same time if you null/void do you reapply Bolton’s deduction from this season for the next season? If so then they might be unhappy about being repunished

I think Bolton get lucky. I'm not bothered either way really, but it's just much easier than this PPG nonsense. Peterboroughs chairman has already said he's suing and lots of others will if PPG is used.

Not for me mate. Whether it makes great decisions or not, not celebrating a goal because you're unsure kills it for me. If the game's on the telly and I'm a neutral then fine, but as a match going fan it's terrible.

if this season continues while the coronavirus is still an ongoing issue with lockdown partial lockdown social distancing rules still applying in one way or another for the rest of us it is making me think ill stop following the game as its finished. bad example to people everywere government asking people to follow that 2m rule when thry are going to allow football to continue is a joke. that is nothing short of an insult to the people who work in hospitals dealing with this outbreak. care homes etc where staff have lived and breathed their job even staying in offices on camp beds so as not to spread it staying away from family for weeks to care for elderly. if the games go ahead no pity from me if anybody in the game gets it bad and a visit from the reaper ensues. no respect for the work of others only respect the game has is money.

If the PM on Sunday says no sports in groups until end of June as reported: surely that’s the final nail in the coffin?
