How can a league that was ruined by controversial VAR decisions, forced to stop for two months because of a global pandemic forcing players to just run round their gardens to stay fit then on resumption scrapped VAR and changed the rules on substitutions for the last 9 games

It will be remembered for all the wrong reasons and hopefully it'll be seen as the point were people realised how corrupt and money driven the game is now

Can't wait for an Everton AFC to start up

Just scrap VAR forever by the way. And it's so ridiculous this, I seen someone on sky saying they'd have to shower at home I think, and keep distance in changing rooms n tunnel, well what's the point in that if they then go on the pitch and play a contact sport and stand next to each other in a wall and let's be honest if it was safe to do so there wouldn't be a need for all these stupid ideas so its clearly not safe so should not be played

And at free kicks and corners, all defending payers must stand two metres away from all attacking players.

If an attacking player is about to head for goal, close to the goal, the goalkeeper must at all times keep two metres away from the attacking player heading the ball.

If the distance rule is applied as in your post, then the above two would also have to be applied.

The whole thing is crazy!

I wonder if any clubs have checked with their insurance companies if they are covered should a player or staff member dies of Covid-19?

I know insurance companies here have told the childcare industry that they won't be covered if they go into a frontline healthcare workers house to mind their children while they go to work.

I just think it sends a really bad message to the public if football resumes, especially when everyone has been told they can't be in groups, so the vast majority can't go to a pub, a restaurant, a family party, go the gym or even take your kids to the park for a play, you certainly wont be aloud to play a game of football in the park yourself

But everyone is supposed to accept the premier league stars are something better, that they can mix and climb all over eacthother while sliding through their team mates flem, but you can't push your kid on a swing or the local barber can't even open his shop to earn a living

Update from Gordon Taylor :

instead of playing football the captains will now play virtual Darts to decide the results , 501 , need a double to start and best of 7 legs match first to 4 none of that 2 clear legs nonsense.
Passbacks to the keeper also now permitted

If Var's not scrapped next season after the absolute farce it has made the game then they can keep it. Much better watching football that's not manipulated beyond enjoyment.

Prize money could be paid out tomorrow if the league was voided. You'd just have less of a pot to pay out from. They should have been negotiating with broadcasters weeks ago the least worst deal, trying to gain what concessions they could and offering more games next season. Instead they've wasted time coming up with a circus months after the season ended.
Another option is they pay the full amount this year, and are allowed to broadcast extra games next season to make up the shortfall

VAR in principal is a good thing, the problem is the people who are overseeing it at games. They need to get people in who are impartial because getting referees doing it isn't (stating the obvious) working.

Spot on. I spent a few moments watching that South Korean game earlier, and the had one of daft handball decisions to look at for a pen. Ref went to the screen, it was very marginal, and he turned it down.

Nailed on that if those clowns st Stockly Park were doing their/our thing, would have been given.

That's the thing roydo, you look at some of the decision that have come out of Stockley Park and you can understand those pointing to corruption.

VAR is fine just use it to check for obvious offsides, handball and fouls if you can't tell within 5 seconds of viewing it just go the orginal decision don't be daft

Might as well use jumpers for goalposts while we're at it...
