That’s my point they may not want to pay out prize money if voided , the last quarter of the season is probably there most exciting time , more games shown possibly better viewing figures losing a quarter of your tv revenue is a huge amount of money to all clubs with the possibility of even less next season as well . Don’t forget sky have postponed anyone’s sky sports subscription until the sport is resumed . A business getting less revenue is not going to want to put themselves in financial straits too .
Sky and BT are paying for broadcast rights. The prize money per place is merely part of how the league chooses to distribute the cash.

They’ve had circa 75% of what they’ve paid for. If the league doesn’t complete they could ask for a refund for the outstanding games or they could agree some additional fixtures in future seasons etc.

Did Sky and BT have to refund subscription money for games not shown? Not sure why they are so bent out of shape.

Sky and BT are losing subscribers. Their whole model is built around broadcasting live sports. Their life blood has dried up. They’re completely bent out of shape.

BT give their phone customers the sports for free dont they?

And Sky have way more than just sport. They will both be hurting, (who isnt?), but I doubt neither would have much enthusiasm for killing the PL.

Sky pay in installments, they never pay upfront, the last payment for this year is due in August and it includes merit money for league placing.

Broadcasters dont have to ask for a refund, they just wont pay.
