The sheer desperation and language used to try and make Glenn feel bad about his views is clear for all to see!

Something that stuck out in my mind when listening to that, " people are dying all around us still and we are trying to play a sport". Thebline of questioning and comments about how negative Glenn is then follow.

Disgrace, absolute disgrace! Gloss over the deaths sky. Just like another organisation I know of who are desperate to get things going.

To play ultimate, and I mean ultimate, devils advocate (so please don’t hate me everybody) is it about trying to play sport, or is it about saving businesses? Don’t care about this season (for obvious reasons) but could clubs afford not to play next season? Could they survive if they miss out on a full years TV money? Players would surely have to take massive pay cuts and as has been seen, players at some clubs (Chelsea is one) haven’t agreed to even a tiny pay cut. Haven’t done any research on it; but how much would missing a season mess up our stadium plans as an example?

Also whilst the lack of player consultation and glossing over of safety issues (at least in public) is a bit disgusting, how long should players be able to refuse to play when the rest of the country will be pretty much forced to return to work in the coming weeks and months. Plus they’ll have access to the best medical care and testing; something many of us could only dream of. Should they sit out until a vaccine?

Honestly don’t even have answers to my own questions year just throwing some stuff out. It’s also not like we’re the only country talking about coming back. I know our death rate is the worst in Europe and our government is a shambles, but Italy and Spain aren’t exactly in great positions and they are all looking on returning around the 12th of June. Doesn’t mean we should follow suit of course, but we may look to follow the example set first by Germany and then by subsequent nations.

Klopp sending out the message to anxious players this morning- do no fear the re- start.....
Roughly translated - let's get on with it - I'm confident we'll get two wins before it all crumbles into chaos.

It's like on an action film when someone gets shot a few times, no hope of recovery, so they try take out a few more baddies before they snuff it.

You’ve made points I’ve had at the forethought of my posts in the last few weeks , though we are all emotionally attached to our club the bottom line is they are businesses and no business is going to be 100% risk free returning or even the ones who have carried on , players take risks with their careers and have done every time they step on a pitch so there has always been an element of risk . As for the clubs themselves they have suddenly found themselves with pretty much zero income coming in but I’d say on average £3 million pound every week having to be found by either owners or cash reserves , overdrafts etc . For them to carry on like that being told they can’t play until 100% safe ie a vaccine which may be years away is sadly a non starter try saying the same thing to million of people and there is no way it would be accepted .

As for the stadium being built is the owner who is paying £ 2 million plus indefinitely a week into the clubs coffers going to do that ongoing and then finance a stadium, your losses start to mount and suddenly your investment doesn’t seem to be going where you wanted it too or expected so you just decide to ease off or look to cut your losses with all the heartbreak that would bring , billionaire owner Ellis Short of Sunderland dome exactly that . I do think this is why you are only hearing complaints of restarting from clubs with a vested interest of going down , some players may have genuine concerns but the silence from owners from the top 14 sort of tells it’s own story to me .

the awkward silence every time glenn murray made a valid point  thought he came across well and spoke a lot of sense unlike carragher and dave jones who were trying to push him down a different route.

You must remember that Carragher and his ilk depend on there being football to get his monthly salary. If there's no football Sky have no need of ex RS pundits.

Theres an old guy who does security on my local coop. Hes stood in the doorway for months controlling the queues without a mask or gloves. No fuss from him at all. A lot of the footballers who are making their opinions known are just trying to jump on the pundit merry go round in my opinion.

Troy Deeney isn't going to play anyway

That one line puts it into perspective.

“The government say we can go back to work from June 1 but we can’t get a haircut until mid-July."
